Feeling like it might be worth noting that the author has 'reached infinite every season so far', so the deck may not be the greatest to climb with, as the author only needs to make 30 levels.
I'm up 25 levels since the beginning of the season, and the grind is intense now.
Not sure I'm going to make 40, and blowing out with Patriot or Surfer or Panther or whatever top tier deck is likely better for climbing.
I've played quite a few matches with this deck, sans Mysterio, and I love it. I can totally see how mysterio is the secret sauce, but it still works without it. I've subbed Titania in for Mysterio. Since you are shooting for off priority plays you have a lot more control of her.
I may also try invisible woman in that slot instead, as it would help reduce priority and keep cards from coming out until 6.
CL4600 and I have finally opened a series 5 card. Bast. I'm pretty happy with that honestly, because it's a solid useful card in several decks, but not exciting enough for me to have ever spent tokens on.
t6 Death (cost 0) and Krull will beat t6 Death (cost 0) and Doom, lmao. First game where it was very clearly a case of both sides playing the same deck except they had the one rare card I don't.
I have looked at card variants on that deckbuilder site and now I don't want to upgrade any of my base cards in the hope I get some of them!
When it comes to splits, the game will remember splits across all your variants. For example, if you split your base card Shang-Chi three times, then got a cool variant and split it, it would count as your fourth split. Here's a current chart of the odds of getting certain background/particle effects per split:
So yeah, feel free to upgrade some cards you like using. Your progress will remain, although you'll be short some boosters I guess. Not that big a deal in the end though.

Honestly tempted to put every Savage Lands card in a deck and see what it does. On first glance, it looks abysmal

Just spinning my wheels with Sera Surfer. I might switch to Negative. It's better to be less consistent and more explosive. I mean it's also possible I'm just fuckin trash or whatever but I dunno. I don't feel amazing with it.
The Negative list has blown people the fuck out in a few games since switching so far so like, I dunno. The snap decisions are way easier on it so like, evidence that I am a scrub is mounting.
Round 1 is Sakaar so it plops my Onslaught down, I snap reflexively because I have Patriot in hand already. I see them setting up a Wong-Ironheart into Odin and try to Debrii but they still manage to get it off. I just barely eek by with the math and win but feels nice to not lose to Wong-Odin for once:

I think running the Kingpin/Polaris/Juggernaut/Storm is all way too much disruption and not enough powah. It's like... Pick one pair, and ditch the other two. Also, I've not liked running Rogue all that much, but I'm probably bad at using her. I also never found myself playing enough cards for Bishop to do much when I tried him. I like Thor in his place much better. Domino is totally dead weight.
ChaosHatHop, hop, hop, HA!Trick of the lightRegistered Userregular
So I think the power of Domino is in the fact that she lets you run more 3 costers. You can pass on 1, but if you have to pass on 1 & 2 that's a bad time. So instead of running more 1s/2s you run one Domino.
The only disruptive one I could see cutting is Kingpin, he's definitely the flex slot. I might try buffed Groot in his spot. Storm is a must have because this deck has super strong plays to follow up Storm. Juggernaut is commonly a guaranteed won lane, and so is Brood.
Polaris is mostly just good stats for cost, with the upside. I could maybe swap her with Sword Master, but I think the ability to play her worry free before 6 is better along with the upside of the disruption maybe mattering.
Juggernaut just wins games with or without storm. It shocks me how often you can find a third lane that's relatively unplayed and then you do a turn 6 Maximus Juggs Surfer and it just blows them out.
Kingpin is again, good stats for cost. I have tried swapping him with Thor but he just makes you less consistent in drawing Sera or Surfer. Might as well have Kingpin for the minor, occasional upside for Juggernaut or Polaris killing someone. I could see trying Groot in this spot post buffs.
I love Rogue. She might be the biggest upset card. There are so many Darkhawks and Devil Dinos and Patriots etc. Aside from Surfer she could be the single biggest swing card.
As far as negative I dislike the Wong line a lot and especially the Gambit. Even when I got magical Christmas land on it it was underwhelming. Dudes would have Armor or too many bodies to be really effective not to mention all the times you get Cosmo or Rogued. And then if you can't live the dream he's so crazy bad stats for cost.
I've played akjak's negative list a bit and always feels like it is full of potential but I end up drawing the one wrong card or get messed up by locations/opponent. Have hit pockets with too much armor and just too many mans for gambit to really work out expect for just yoloing it when no one snaps sometimes.
But the number of times that I just needed one more card of stats to play out - and pulled a negative magik on turn 6 - that I can't play out - is too damn high

Oh yeah, I get that Rogue is a Good Card and Choice, I'm just personally bad at using her. That's why I left her in that first list.
Gambit is what I cut for Bast, so I don't disagree that the Gambit uh... gambit is hail mary. Funny when it works, annoying to draw when you ain't got it.
Overall I really like Wong in there. Most of the time I'm not really trying to go full Wongo Combo, it's just a nice play to go Zabu into Wong + something else, or the dream of Wong + Mr. Negative (which actually happens a lot for me). Mystique gets another value in getting to copy Sera now and then.
Wong is just a better flat turn 4 than playing out a full cost Ironheart (the deck doesn't have Odin) when you're pushing your power plays to later in the game anyway. There are lots of games where I pass him over in my hand, because Negative's gone off on 3 and we're off to the races. In those cases it's not like you're hurting for cards, and I'd still rather see Wong there than goddamn Iron Man. Setting off Surfer either 2 or 4 times is almost always better than doing Iron Man, imo. (For the assumption that Iron Man is just always going to cost 5, because he is.)
Also sometimes Wong makes people panic. That's always fun.

If you're trying to top-deck and win on 6 you should have retreated on 5.
This is what I'm trying to workshop for Bast
Bishop looks a lot more attractive when he starts with 3 power lol.

Uh news from the discord
Get Ready For The Drop
It’s been a couple months since we introduced Series 4 and Series 5 cards, and we’re excited about our first-ever Series Drop! With every Series Drop, some Series 5 cards will move to Series 4, and some Series 4 cards will move to Series 3.
Series 5 cards that will move to Series 4:
● Valkyrie
● Super-Skrull
● Bast
● Shuri
● Black Panther
Series 4 cards that will move to Series 3:
● Luke Cage
● Absorbing Man
● She-Hulk
● Titania
When cards drop Series, they become 10x more common in Collector’s Reserves, and much cheaper in the Token Shop.
We look forward to doing a Series Drop every month! Series Drops currently require a patch, so the exact date and time may vary. The patch with this Series Drop (and the ability to Battle friends!) is currently planned for January 31st, though if we run into last minute issues we may choose to delay for a little longer to make sure things work correctly.
When choosing which cards to drop, we will often start with some of the ones that have been in that Series the longest. That is, except for…
The Big Bads
All cards will eventually become easy to obtain through enough Series Drops. However, there are currently two cards that we do not plan to drop down a series: Our favorite 6-Cost supervillains, Thanos and Galactus. They’re just too dang epic.
Introducing “First Edition”
We’re excited to announce a new feature that we’re working on: First Edition Badges! If you acquire a Series 5 card before it moves down a Series, that card will show a “First Edition Badge” when you inspect it. It’s a way to show that you got the card when it was brand new. This feature will take us some time to build, but our goals are to retroactively apply First Edition Badges to cards earned before the feature comes online AND to show the Badge on all variants and Infinity Splits of the card!
Token Shop Improvements
The Token Shop has been live for a little while and we’ve had some time to experience what we like and don’t like about it. We love how it allows players to make progress towards the cards they want most. We don’t love that the hottest, newest cards don’t feel very accessible to players who haven’t completed Series 3. Once players complete Series 3, they start earning 500% more Tokens on the Collection Track, but before then, Series 4 and 5 can feel out of reach. We are starting to experiment with changes we could make to let players who are still progressing through Series 3 feel quicker progress towards the new hotness. It’s going to take us a little time to make these changes, but our goal is to make the experience of earning Series 4 and 5 feel much better for folks who haven’t completed Series 3.
With so many new cards dropping to Series 3 and 4 and more dropping every month, things are about to get spicy! We can’t wait to see what wild new decks everyone will build!
I own all the 4s and 3 of the 5s that are getting demoted. I'll probably just be stockpiling for Darkhawk in series 4 at this point.
I feel like for Token shop, like a once per day 100 gold reshuffle feels fine

I already have Luke Cage and Absorbing Man, but being able to get She-Hulk and Titania will definitely be nice. Having an actual shot at Valkyrie, Super-Skrull, Bast and Shuri will also be very nice.
Also very glad to see they don't plan to lower Thanos or (especially) Galactus.

Nimrod seems INSANE what the hell lmao, hit him with Zola and that's 10 power in 2 lanes that doges Shang Chi
I dunno. That's kind of a pretty low upside case for Zola overall, and Nimrod being a 5 drop really clashes with Wave, and I'm not convinced destroy decks will ever have a better top end than Deathwave.
lol of course i have 3 of the 4 s4 cards dropping down.
I was already planning on not spending credits till i had 2200 so i could move through one whole batch of 4 at a time... but maybe i'll just hold tight till the end of the month (i say now dooming us to get more "level x cards/gain x levels" weeklies)
I was kind of expecting thanos/galactus to be like that I don't really know why, but it makes sense to me
I feel like for Token shop, like a once per day 100 gold reshuffle feels fine
There are 3 free rotations a day, paying for a fourth would be the biggest waste ever.
The Collectors Token change has people getting mad...but it basically does nothing, so I do not quite understand why anyone cares at the end of the day.
Not everyone can log in 3 times a day for whatever reason, and they could do something like the reroll being in the same pool of cards so you could kinda work towards specific ones
I only had She-Hulk from the Series 4 dropping to Series 3, so this is great news for me. I especially like Absorbing Man moving down because I feel like he's a super important card in a lot of decks now, and likely in the future, much like Mystique.
M'Baku staying at Series 4 is a double edged punch to the dick. On one hand, dropping him to S3 would suck to open and take up a space for a better S4 card. On the other hand, opening M'Baku as a S4 from a Reserve is the worst feeling (trust me on this).

Wave, Nimrod, Venom, Zola. 35 power!!! And only 2 more cards than 32 from Black Panther!
Like maybe the Nimrod play is Nimrod on 5, turn 6 Deathlok and Venom? You Deathlok Nimrod, you generate two more Nimrods, and then Venom eats one in the new new lane, and sends two more out? So that's Deathlok and Nimrod for 10 in one lane, two Nimrods in another, for 10 more, and then a Venom having eaten a Nimrod, for 6 there? 26 power divided over three lanes, plus it's possible the Deathlok/Carnage kills a Nova and/or Bucky in the process?
Like good fucking luck having all these lanes not Cosmo/Armored but that's a "I'll build my own Doctor Doom! With Blackjack! And hookers!"
Also, Agatha showed up in my Token shop today and I know I've passed on her before. That means Brood is gonna be swooping around soon as well. With 19 cards to get, I should see Brood in under 3 weeks....which means I might have enough Tokens saved up by then.

Altar of Death right now appears to be on the Lamentis end of the spectrum where "Oh boy I guess we just get to play this alternate sub game for a couple days." Like it doesn't feel like you can play a deck that cannot abuse the fuck out of Altar of Death right now or you'll just get buried in value by the decks that can.
Like I guess I'll just spam Deadpool into this literally every turn.

Been bleeding cubes all day
Just 1/2 losses, 4 on like a mirror match.
MMR is now set to bot land.
Snap on everything, make up losses in like two games.
Implies deck archetypes are stratified by MMR. Possibly why I wasn't seeing Sera Control mirrors until I lost a lot.
Seems like I should be folding until I see bots again, until I get to Infinite.
Also implies Surfer = easy infinite based on the correlation and preponderance of lvl 100 titles in that strata too.
