hey @The Zombie Penguin you were right, gundam build divers re:rise is actually pretty good (once you get past the first handful of slow starting episodes or so). I do have to say, the start of the show makes you feel like you came in missing like 4 or 5 episodes of backstory for some reason, to the point I had to look up if I actually had to watch the first season to make any sense of it at all. They at least eventually do give you enough backstory to fill in the blanks, but its just a bit jarring.
I'm up to ep 14 now so hopefully the back half of the show sticks the landing
It absolutely does to my mind. There will be an episode where you deal with the people from the first season, but dont watch the first season, its' really bad. I actually like the slow burn early, because it means you get time spent learning who all of these characters are and why they're doing what they do.
I'm pretty sure I've saw it here somewhere, but whoever called Eri not surviving as they were adrift in space after the prologue get's a shoutout this episode when Prospera said something along the lines of "Her child body couldn't handle the rigors of space". Pretty sure that's a soft confirm that in order to save Eri's consciousness as she was dying Prospera cranked up the permet score in the Llfrith till she essentially..well not essentially, literally was one with the machine.
Yeah I'm pretty sure your child daughter dying in your arms as you floated adrift in space would drive anyone nuts. Almost as if Prospera is now just some sort of storm of revenge, like a Tempest LOLOLOLOLOL.
Yup, continued to have called it.
At least "mom going understandably nuts over her child dying" is a lot more defensible than "mixture of jealousy and lust that would give Frollo pause."

I finally got around to finishing DanMachi Season 4. It was DIRE for a while, but they managed to convincingly pull it off and stick the landing. I was satisfied.
They were telegraphing Ryu sacrificing herself to save Bell SO HARD, there was no way the story could actually have gone down that path. Basically the same reason characters can't explain the heist plan ahead of time, because things that are explained never go accordingly.

Saori Hayami voice acted the hell out of that last part.
I think the insert song Saori Hayami did for that one episode of DanMachi season 4 got released in Japan recently. Definitely something that I would want on my playlist. It is such a pretty song.

I also finished the latest season of My Hero Academia. The series has been bumming me out for a while since
the main cast has been losing ground to the villains for what feels like the majority of the series at this point, but this season did manage a good hope spot adapting one of my favorite scenes.
Class A saving Deku (from himself) was amazing. When "You Say Run" kicks in, you know they have a banger scene planned.
Apparently with the blessing of his son, but... yeah. I mean, it was going to happen with all the Vocaloid stuff eventually. Maybe already has. I have no idea if any of those actresses have died. Certainly will with all the Biden/Trump 'parody' stuff already out there.
+1

I’m not sure how vocaloid really ties into it, Disney has been doing deepfake voice stuff for a while now.

Considering the "banging pots" method is used by real people protesting or contesting powerful people abusing their power*, the use of this pot is either cleverly or serendipitously representing the people fighting against injustice. Chef motherlovin' Kiss.

Watching this clip I thought I'd check this show out - only to discover that apparently I already watched the whole thing.
And even now - knowing that fact - I still can't remember a single goddamn thing about it.
I was a fan of it when it came out. It is notable for being a Trigger series that was adapted from elsewhere rather than their own thing, and was one of their first series (got to pay the bills while working on the crazy stuff).
Basic premise is that all of the members of the High School Literature Club randomly get absurd superpowers one day (One can create anything she can think of, one can restore anything to its "proper" state, the girl in the thumbnail is essentially the Avatar and controls all elements, etc.), much to the delight of the one guy in the club who is an absolute chuni and only in the club as an excuse to read manga. He's convinced that they are destined to save the world, or fight a big enemy, or evil organization (He's also the only one in the group to get a dud power: he can create a black flame in the palm of his hand that does not generate light nor heat. It's only purpose is to look cool).
Cut to several months later when the series starts, and nothing has happened. There are no villains, no aliens, no secret evil societies, no nothing. So it's essentially a slice of life series where the characters are also super powerful, but they have no reason to use them and most of the group doesn't care.
Later in the series you do find out what the deal with the super powers are. It turns out that fae creatures from another world like to give powers to random humans and pit them against each other as a form of entertainment (they make sure no one ends up hurt). Some of them got board with the fights and gave powers to the Literature Club so that they could have a sit com of sorts to watch. All of the fighting groups were instructed to leave them alone. The fae gave them super OP powers because they thought it would be funny, and it also discourages the fight groups from getting involved since they'd be steamrolled.
It's not one of the all time great series or anything, but I found it to be a fun watch and wouldn't mind another season, although that seems unlikely.

Lyric video with spoilers:
AniList
Saori Hayami acts the hell out of everything she does. She's probably the highest profile seiyuu in the current era.
Steam: YOU FACE JARAXXUS| Twitch.tv: CainLoveless
She is definitely in the top 3 of my favourite voice actors. (Aoi Yuuki remains first)
The clip below is often brought up when talking about Saori Hayami's voice acting. Never did see this specific show but it is some great voice acting.

This show is brutal. Super well done though.
