It seems like the drawn flipbook style scenes are a choice and in line with the whole art aesthetic of the game, but the posed 3d model loading screens are bad.
Yeah, I can deal with that when it's a part of the aesthetic or a Yakuza game (because I know there'll be hype shit and a bizarre and inexplicable CG Absolute Flex moment at some point), but this is supposed to be the vanguard of Microsoft's "YO WE BOUGHT ENTIRE PUBLISHERS SO WE CAN HAVE EXCLUSIVES" strategy.
It's very odd how thoroughly and abruptly YouTube has given up on their YouTube shorts as an answer to TikTok. One day I was seeing a list of shorts every single day and now suddenly they're gone from my feed without a trace. I only know they still exist because I specifically followed a few YouTubers and their shorts accounts.

They poofed for me too, but only for a bit. I dunno if it affected anything, but I went specifically to the shorts tab and watched a couple then went back to the mainpage and there was a shorts entry again.
It seems like YT will show you shorts if you consume them, otherwise it assumes you hate them and doesn't show them to you at all, a real feast or famine kinda deal.
Shorts are designed for phone users so they kinda clash with the desktop/tv apps.
I will say as someone who uploads from time to time, Shorts had some weird algorithm that was different to normal YouTube where it's pretty easy for a video to pickup some views so some smaller channels used them to grow quickly when they were first added
Like I can upload the same video twice, once as a short and one as a video and the short will get 2 thousand views compared to maybe 10 on the video
Worse than youtube shorts is facebook reels. Yes facebook, I totally need videos of women advertising their onlyfans inserted into my facebook feed. It's either that or inane 5 minute life hacks or bogus welding. At least youtube doesn't sandwich shorts from strangers in between my regular videos.

I mean, they're not wrong. I don't want to sub to history channels, but I do occasionally binge watch several for hours. Then I'm done with them for a while.
Yes and no. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong. Would be nice if they came up with a better method. Like a row of previously watched videos that lets you click on the three dots and then have an option where you can tell it that you would like to binge similar videos and it loads up a page with lots of similar videos. That would give people the ability to binge watch a bunch of stuff, but also not have the feed almost completely taken over because they watched something new.
It sounds like other people are still getting the shorts window so I guess it is personal to me but this feels different. I thought a lane for the shorts was just going to be normal going forward and now it's completely gone. Haven't seen it in a month.

If it's been a month you'll see it again very soon. Dismissing it through the X in the top right only dismisses it for 30 days at a time
