    I want some tea now

But I don't care for iced tea I prefer my tea hot

I want to get some matcha but the stuff is like expensive and I'd have to get the little whisk thing and stuff too

I've not tried it yet, but this has been recommended to me as a good, reasonably priced matcha.

The whisk is more Traditional, but honestly one of those handheld milk frothers works just fine.

I might just jump in on some culinary grade matcha honestly

I'll probably mostly be doing latte versions of it so I'll probably get by with an electric whisk.

How does that factor into me, a dumbass, who brews their ice tea cold?

When I make iced tea I make about a cup's worth of hot tea, usually extra strong, and then I dump a lotta ice in there along with a few more cups of water (plus some citrus or aromatics or wev, depending on tea type), and stick it in the fridge for at most a few hours, after which I take out the tea (always loose leaf, enveloped in a strainer ball) so it doesn't oversteep.

This method gets the flavour and level of caffeine release I'm looking via hot extraction, plus some additional layers on the tail from the longer cold steep. But you can also just stick tea in cold water and let it sit in the fridge, that works fine.

I toss 100g of leaf into my big ol' tea leaf cage, add 6 liters of water to it and toss it in the fridge. Do this about every 3 days, since I go through the shit so fast. I don't know what "oversteeping" really means, does that mean I'm getting more caffeine?

Means you leach too many tannins so it tastes very bitter. But its harder to do with a pure cold brew.

You might also be able to mitigate it with something sweet if you do oversteep the tea. At least that's why I mix it with lemonade to begin with, otherwise regular tea is too blech if it's not a green tea.

I'm going to go tomorrow to the new Asian supermarket to look for matcha

And also see if they have durian and lychee

Hmmm, I guess for me and this particular tea, that's a good thing. I like the bitterness of tea, especially when it's offset by floral or citrus notes.

Stopped by the Asian grocery store

They only seemed to have one package of matcha that wasn't packaged with milk powder in it it's tian hu Shan branded something or other. 150 grams in this box for like 6 bucks so not a bad price

    Hopefully it tastes okay

Also got some ocean bomb sodas with dbz characters on them. I couldn't resist.

Tea is far to complicated for my small brain

Not unlike those Italian nerds who insist there are only three kinds of pizza, there are tea nerds that have a lot of fucking opinions about tea.

Ignore them and drink some tea.

I tried making this tea but can't get it to foam much with just a fork.

Next time I'll try a jar until I get myself a new electric whisk thing.

fuck is that why I think that, has that stupid comic been lodged that deeply in my brain for that long, I'm not sure I'm ready for this much introspection on a Thursday

I suspect if you start peeling the wallpaper, you'll find Achewood no more than two or three layers underneath most of my thoughts and feelings.

Achewood was extremely influential to my thought process and inner voice for years, it's slipping away and I'm kinda sad about it

I never knew what comic that was until just now. It is posted fairly often in the forums but it never occurred to me to ask the name. I was actually going to ask until you just said it. I never read it.

I haven't bought it yet but tomorrow I am going to buy a needlessly expensive but very cool Warhammer 40k model called the void dragon. It is as much as entire boardgames cost and it will only comprise a small part of my army.
