He's right, doors are definitely sphincters. I think your house only has a cloaca if you have a built-on garage, because you can get anything in or out of there.

I guess the house I grew up in had an impacted bowel then

You gotta train your doorways by inserting increasingly large objects in them and then you can fit any mattress or chesterfield no problem.

What if we were to, say, cook outside the house?

so we, like, pull out the food and grill and people and everything from the house cloaca ?

Texted "the door is the cloaca of the house" to my boyfriend and he texted back "really the foyer is the cloaca, I think the door is more of a sphincter."
    Glad we nailed that down.

    Got a good one.

So I'd been eyeing this cutie the last two weeks

But while I'm really drawn to the shape and rustic texture, $100 for shoddy spray paint and construction is nothx

The universal scale object: incense burner, obviously.

It is exceeding rare that I have zero internal debate before a purchase, especially over twenty bucks. I did sit and have a think if it was too small for practicality, but I think it'll work, and I'll definitely make it work somewhere if my 1st thought doesn't pan out, I love eet

It's popular enough that the first printing sold out. It'll be back in stock soon enough.

  • I hadn't put together the Blacktron set that was a gift with purchase yet, so I just finally put that one together.

The other half of this is that I'm likely moving in the summer, and I don't want to just...put it together and then figure out how to pack it up and where to display it, I've already gotta figure out what to do with this fuckin' roller coaster. I'm less worried about the big castle set, I feel like that one's at less risk of structural collapse

Awesome, I hope you find a new place you really like! I totally understand about moving, I've had to rebuild the UCS Star Destroyer three times, and it lived in a closet for 7 years before the last rebuild. I would say, though, that it's Lego, so you can always bag up a kit in sections and rebuild it post-move.

This kit should be around for at least the next two years, so you can always wait to buy it until you've moved in and are ready for it.

When I moved last time I put all the kits that would fit in plastic grocery bags, and then put them in a box. Worked perfectly to keep any pieces that came off during transit where they belonged. Larger kits I broke down in to bags and tied the handles together, then in to boxes. Reassembly was fairly simple for the most part, but I had to refer to the instructions more than once when I couldn't figure out where some pieces were supposed to go.

The thoroughness of pee stains on the table currently next to the toilet did not spark joy, so I need to come up with another plan for this beauty.

A bag is a really good idea, though the Guffey bags I have are all paper...

It uses technic pieces as a foundation in a really interesting way, to kind of hold it together. The base for the council piece (which you can pick up and use as its own display piece) is mostly traditional. Mostly the build techniques in this one aren't super unique, but that bit really worked.

God, I dunno, I didn't have the heart to time it and I took pretty substantial breaks. I started it...Wednesday afternoon and finished it pretty late last night? I had work and sleep in the midst of all of that, obviously

I once got paid for like a full day and a half to build a LEGO set because I convinced my boss that our podcast set needed more nerd shit in the background.

Feel free to steal that move.

honestly, I'd prefer a Lost set!

I also pitched talking about Lost instead of Legos but the interviewer did not want to hear about Lost!

  • ShadowfireShadowfire Vermont, in the middle of nowhereRegistered User regular
Lost Legos are bad because you'll find them with your bare foot.

  • if I were ever to do a Lost set for a Lego Ideas submission, my big idea would be that it'd be a moderately sized island replica with various representations of Lost landmarks scattered about, and then in the middle there's the hatch and when you remove the hatch, you can open up the island along some hinges to reveal iconic scenes from lost inside

As long as there's a polar bear.

That's the only thing I know about Lost and only because it was in a Venture Brothers episode.

My favorite thing about the NES Lego set is that you can pop open a panel on the side of it and there’s a little blocky representation of stage 1-2
