The call, right or wrong, made the game end like a wet fart but don't lie and pretend it changed a single thing about how you were reacting to the game or talking about how it was rigged from the first snap.

all that should be talked about is the flag. we never got to see the end of the game. the eagles don't make the drive? oh well, great game, got a shot, chiefs are a great team there's no shame in it. but to not get that last chance when you earned it because the nfl selectively enforces it's rules on the biggest stage to benefit the same fuckers over and over again is just fucking awful. i wish i was capable to just say fuck off to football after this, the sport is legit a joke if this is how the biggest game in the world is going to be decided.
I am begging you to touch some grass and hug a loved one
You're currently, at this moment, holding against the Philadelphia Eagles an incident from the same year Robert F Kennedy was assassinated
As a neutral observer that kinda hates both of those teams, that's the kinda thing that makes me just not want to watch as much football next season, and I already wasn't watching a ton. It's just dumb, soft, and boring.
As a neutral in largely the same situation, the amount of sports betting ads make me glance sidelong at stuff like that.
In every sport at this point, frankly.
That too.

I mean since you clearly are making well thought out comments hostile, let's get hostile.
Anyone who thinks that call should have been made clearly doesn't even fucking like football. We can back and fourth about (legit facts you refuse to actually address) how it isn't called elsewhere, or if it's right or wrong. A weak call that didn't have any impact on the play basically robbing all of the people watching the game of a good ending. If you think that is the right way to do it, you don't like football.
And that means you are only hear to start shit with others. So grats I guess, you succeeded.
no actually I like football and I think penalties should be called when they happen

If you think the Santa story is not 100% fabricated bullshit spun into myth and blown up 1000 times, 100% yes without hesitation

I brought that shit up as a joke you dingus, but it's real
it also has fuck all to do with a penalty call that happened, people are just focusing on it more than I did
k then why didn't they call the clear and obvious facemask on the chiefs on the drive that lead to the punt return.
oh because it didn't really affect the play and it's the fucking super bowl so they let it slide?
oh i guess that only applies to one team then, ok sure. that's fine i guess. whatever dude, enjoy being right or whatever you wanna think this is about.

there isn't some goddamn grand conspiracy, refs are humans and have to make calls on the field as they see them
what you're doing right here and now is how conspiracies spawn and spread

there's a ref looking straight at it. either they saw it and decided not to call it because it's the super bowl, or they're incompetent beyond reason and should be fired like, right now.

Of course it's real, I live in Literal Actual Philly, I've heard about this my entire life, heard how people talk who were there talk about it, and how people who weren't there talk about it
It's a nonsensical non-issue that's been spun up by out of towners as an easy potshot against the city and its fans for longer than I've been alive and anyone who brings it up in the year of our lord 2023 talks about it shouldn't be taken seriously
And by your own admission you brought it up, so, by extension,

Yeah sure, except for the other times in the game they didn't call them? Oh I'm sorry, you won't address that because it wouldn't play into your holier than thou attitude right now.
Yes tell emotional fans to go touch grass because we all love sports because we sip our tea, tip our hats, and say jolly good show that.
lmao, fuck off dude. there's literally no winning situation there for a player. he says it's soft which is all anyone is saying and he's a sore loser.
whatever enjoy your victory lap. i literally can't be happier for you.

"That is a by the books penalty" and "the refs let penalties like that slide for the entire game as evidenced by tape" are two true statements with regards to this game, and frankly I think the argument of "should they have called it or not" is basically a waste of time. Ditto "but should that have mattered if the Eagles didn't [fumble-6/punt on 4&2 and give KC three hundred yards]."
It is a factually true statement that the call turned "KC scores and the Eagles have 1:40 and a timeout" into "KC scores and the Eagles have 4 seconds." Whether the Eagles should have been in that position or not doesn't super matter in regards to the call at the time it happened; the call was game-deciding in that moment, and as a result people are going to be very fixated on it.
KC fans are going to say "neener neener it was a textbook penalty." Eagles fans are going to say "they let that contact go all game and then called it in a really pivotal moment." Folks who don't root for either team will still pick one of these narratives to support, which we see in here already.
All of it is missing the point, which is that the refs took a really well fought offensive game on both sides and made it all about themselves. It's all this game will be remembered for, just like Saints PI No Call and Tuck Rule Game. People mostly won't remember the Eagles QB sneaking five hundred times and never getting stopped, or KC rallying from what looked like a death spiral and going on a tear. It's just gonna be "damn that one holding call, those refs, am I right?"
The right call was a tragic way for that game to end

I suck at wording things but eclipse laid it out perfectly.
I don't understand why some had to come in here and basically get that whole passive agressive stick your nose up at others for being emotional after a nutso game with a shitty (justified or not) ending. But it's whatever I guess
I'm not getting passionate because I think the eagles got robbed either. They fucked up a lot this game compared to what they are capable of. I just wish we could have seen the rest of the football game man.
Calling it now - KC will benefit from a ridiculous pass interference call.
Not blaming them. It's Cheffers, and between the two, I think Reid and Mahomes are more likely to see something and do a better job fishing for the flag
kidding it wasn't a bs call, imo, just controversial because it killed the game and took out all the excitement

you told me I don't like football because I think a legit penalty was called and made up buillshit about ignoring facts
I get passive aggressive when people specifically get pissy at me
I'm a fucking bucs fan, I'm used to misery and anger, but I don't take that shit out on other people because my sportsball team lost

Cause as Cowboys fan I need literally anything, true or not, to fight back against the (100% deserved) shit that gets slung at my own fanbase
During the final two minutes, all penalties are legal.
That’s right, it’s the purge baby!

And that sucks.
Is the KC fan base pretty rancid for the chop? Absolutely.
Are Philly fans toxic as fuck? Also Yes
bills had to be told to stop throwing snowballs on the field or it would be a penalty.
giants fans and dogers fans have literally killed each other in the parking lots.
turns out, most drunken sports fans kinda suck!
Bosa after the 9ers lost the Super Bowl was even more insufferable.
