I was visiting friends in San Antonio when all the local news stations were running grainy footage of a mangy coyote and breathlessly speculating about whether or not it was a chupacabra.

What a time to be temporarily in South Texas.

I know they made a movie about Mothman back in 2002? as I remember seeing it in that mass of movies I saw when I came back in 2003 and I just remember being unimpressed by it
One of the striking things I remember about the theater in Las Vegas was you could pay and it was cheap to see movies but how many people were sleeping in the seating

I knew about chupacabra's early on because a family we were friends with at the time had a grandmother living with them who loved loved loved listening to Art Bell. I feel like that's a less entertaining but now more niche way of learning about chupacabra. :-D

I am literally finding this out now and I am entirely perturbed by the upheaval of assumptions I had from its lack of historic origins.

I'm more excited about how recent it's origins are and yet how widespread knowledge of the Chupacabra is and an assumption that he's an important mythological figure. Plus the obvious fact that it was a coyote with mange really lets you see how other cryptids came into being and how nobody wants to acknowledge that and just embrace the fantasy.

I’m currently watching that Operation Fortune movie. It seems to be the textbook definition of a 7/10, which is where Guy Ritchie seems to live these days

I’m kind of into it, honestly! Dude is just living his best life, making totally decent snarky British crime/spy thrillers with a weird sense of humor and Hugh Grant playing an absolute sleazeball. Totally uncomplicated macho silliness for dads and the dad at heart

My mom got me this VHS for my 8th or 9th birthday because I was the weird ufo kid at school. (carried Mothman Prophecies -the book- in my bag for a solid year for example) Anyways it was a good bit because at my birthday party I immediately slap that VHS in. A few parents never forgave us because apparently showing a "documentary" about a goat eating monster on a goat farm kept a few of their kids up for a bit.

Riff Raff from Rocky Horror was the King of Theives, and probably the best casting.

Marlon Wayans was a decent comic relief character, and then they decided the main character needed some motivation so they brutally murdered Marlon Wayans in front of him.

Rogues having longsword proficiency is a bit of a vestigial part of the game. You can't sneak attack with one, and a Rogue that can't sneak attack is pretty sad
