You know how Ultrakill has a super tough secret boss fight that unlocks if you get a perfect rank on every level in chapter 1?

Well, they just added one for chapter 2.

I've got P rank on every level and I'm currently getting my ass kicked by the fights leading up to this new boss.

UPDATE: I have actually reached the new boss now.

Since I’m apparently that guy now I feel obligated to say that pretty much every roguelike I raved about in the last thread is on sale right now. I’m even going to add a new one to the pile: Rift Wizard! It’s rad but brutal; you play as a wizard, and you start with one spell point, and you can pick a spell; yknow, magic missile, lightning bolt, etc. you need to beat all the nasties and the spawners on 24 levels. There are SP pickups in every level, and you can keep picking and upgrading spells as you go along. The spell variety is huge and creative, and the passive skills are also absolutely wild. There’s not much of an inventory and no equipment to manage, but your spells have a limited number of casts before you have to drink mana potions. It’s very hard but very cool and you feel powerful right up until a polar bear caves your bearded head in.

One of the best open world games out there when it comes to "show don't tell" worldbuilding. Absolutely worth getting and I love it, just be aware that it is pure sandbox play with no central storyline/quest

There was one like, roguelike bullet hell mashup I remember where you were a triangle (wizard?) That had like a minimalist line drawing aesthetic and a huge variety of spells to cast but I can never find it again. It was like freeware 10 years ago. My quest is eternal.

The extra dungeon (at least the one that opens up with the rest of the side quests when you get the Epoch, I haven't seen the one that unlocks after you beat the game the first time) is pretty bad. A streamer I follow was playing CT for the first time and he tried it, and it was just weird fetch quests and stuff he couldn't figure out how to progress that isn't really integrated into the story like the other sidequests are.

Base game still great though.

The PC version of Chrono Trigger has some weird issues. Like, it'll run at around 20 FPS unless you disable the Steam overlay.

It has the anime cutscenes, but the one for when you find Robo is missing.
