No lie, the Wiimote is actually how I played RE4 the first time. I played RE1 and 2 back in the day, but didn't touch the franchise after that until they started putting out the rail shoooters on the Wii and I got them, was reminded how zany the RE universe was and since RE4 was so acclaimed and was available, I bought it on the Wii.
Played through it like 3 times in a row. (Once on normal, once on hard and once with the typewriter) Great damn game.

As the Bloober Team, we don't comment on rumors. However, this time we need to take the floor, as some recent statements have been taken out of context, due to inaccurate translations. Our company's messages did not contain sales forecasts of specific titles. The figures connected to Silent Hill 2 refer to the potential success of the type of games we will be focusing on in the future.
It is also not true that we have announced that Silent Hill 2 is ready for release. Regardless of the development stage, all of our activities are focused on obtaining the highest quality for the finished product—the quality that fans of Silent Hill 2 deserve. We are aware that players are waiting for more information about Silent Hill 2. As soon as such information becomes available, we are sure that Konami, the publisher for the game, will share it with fans.
Thank you for your support and we will continue to do our best to provide high-quality games that give players the best emotional experience possible.

I'm in love with KCD environments. The wilderness is so lush and detailed, and forests feel properly big and wild.
I got beaten unconscious by an angry drunk, again, so I've just been walking around in the woods picking flowers to make myself feel better. It's so peaceful.
holy crap what game is that
Kingdom Come Deliverance would be my guess
wasn't that the chud-hole white national game?
I've read things to suggest (some of?) the devs are probably awful people but I haven't exactly done a ton of research. It was enough to make me wait to buy it until it was cheap on sale, but not enough to not buy it at all, because I have no moral fortitude.

If by builder you mean them selling you tiles as DLC.

He also acknowledged the controversy surrounding the game's lack of people of color, pointing to evidence of Moors in the region, but did conclude it was historically logical, due to the size of the game's open world.[39] Helen Young, a professor at Deakin University, demonstrated that when creatives strive for "historical authenticity", they naturally extend beyond proven historical fact to include "audience expectation".[42] In the case of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the target audience expects medieval racial purity, which leads to a product that reflects and reinforces that expectation, and rejects evidence that does not fit. She noted that the protagonist Henry's social mobility from peasant to knight would have been so rare as to be anachronistic for the time period, but fits with the modern audience's expectations of a hero's journey.[42] In contrast, no amount of evidence of non-white peoples in Bohemia would be deemed sufficient to gain acknowledgement in the product, as it could always be dismissed as "inaccurate, poorly researched, politically motivated or too specific".[42]
European media also responded to some aspects of the criticism. A commentator at the Czech newspaper Lidové noviny called the accusations "out of place" and claimed that most Europeans would respond that there were very few, if any, black people in early 15th-century central Bohemia.[45] The German magazine M! Games asked scholars at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz about the ethnic composition of 15th century Bohemia. They responded that dark-skinned Turkic peoples, like Cumans, would have been present in courtly settings but their presence in rural Bohemia is not known.[46]
Some publications have criticized the views held by the game's director Daniel Vávra, who supported GamerGate.[39][43][47] They also criticized Vávra for wearing a shirt from the band Burzum, whose founder Varg Vikernes is a white supremacist and convicted murderer, while promoting the game at Gamescom in 2017.[35] Vávra and Martin Klíma responded to the accusations in an interview, stating that Vávra might be a little "quick with words", apologizing for anyone who felt offended.[43]

The funny thing about this is Wizards tried to put language into publishing agreements that would have negatively impacted the features and selling points of many virtual tabletops, which was an extremely transparent attempt at hobbling the competition before they released their own VTT. It was wrapped up in the OGL meltdown so Wizards was forced to scrap it (for now.)
It was seriously stuff like "Hey, you can have static figures on a grid, but god forbid you actually animate it when they cast a fireball!"

I wonder if this is why BG3 doesn't have a game master mode like Divinity OS2.

so, in a purely historical perspective, bohemia at that time had little to no people of african descent in the region, it was simply far too north
they did have turkic peoples who the game is not kind to as they are the enemies
but also the game features health potions and lockpicks and swords killing people through plate armor which you can then loot and wear without any sort of modification so fuckin come on
My comment was more on a dude wearing a shirt for a band who's lead singer was a murderer white supremacist and his response was "Sorry I offended people" the worst apology.

We're talking about creepy GDC interactions? @Morrison--whose sexual harassment allegations I literally covered--directed a firehose of inappropriate comments and questions toward me about my body, marital status and plans around having children at a GDC party 1/2
Don't want to make a big deal. But given that a 3rd party investigation cleared @Morrison of the harassment allegations & he positions himself as a resource to women in gaming, I wanted to share this. Women in games should feel comfortable and safe in professional settings 2/2
oh this absolutely sucks, the person being accused was actually running a really good service for providing indie games with legal/corporate advice
If we're going to stick Detective Vision in every game, we really need to decide commonly on either left or right button. Because switching them between games is going to get a lot of people exploded by accidental grenades.

he Last of Us Part 1 lets you jump right into the game and have the shaders compile in the background, but it warns you about performance issues. I chose to play the game immediately and the shader progress only hit 40% in the 10 minutes I played before it crashed. When I relaunched it, the progress had jumped to 80%. It's worth noting that my PC has an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti, an Intel Core i9 12900K, and 32GB of RAM—more than enough to run a game like this on modest settings with DLSS on.

The Uncharted collection came out a few months ago:
and was quite well reviewed as well, also ported by Iron Galaxy
not sure what changed between the two games, I believe they run on very similar tech, but who knows what other complications could be happening behind the scenes

iron galaxy was also helping on metroid prime
i wonder if this was the project getting fewer resources on a longer timeline, and it got shoved out to capitalize on the TV show

Did you play it on pc or console? It feels like PC people have a way different opinion of it then controller people.

last of us part 1 not doing so hot
I'm seeing a lot of reviews complaining about crashes and poor performance.
https://www.pcgamer.com/add-the-last-of-us-part-1-to-the-list-of-bad-pc-ports/
bad port, apparently
oh my bad, let me change that around
I mean it’s just my bad brain, although it’s a super weird title for a game in general!
This is the “current gen” remake.
But also, it's the first time it's releasing on PC at all.
and was quite well reviewed as well, also ported by Iron Galaxy
not sure what changed between the two games, I believe they run on very similar tech, but who knows what other complications could be happening behind the scenes
Weird that this was such a bad port when all the other PS ports have been pretty solid, from what I recall.
