I used to watch Bynx vids occasionally. I saw two in less than a week though where he was being really sarcastic and assholish with people in his chat over disagreements about how things would have worked out if a different play had been made. And that's not a deal breaker for me, but he was absolutely wrong both times and being kind of a dick in how he was disagreeing with everyone who kept trying to explain how the interactions would have actually gone.
It really rubbed me the wrong way. Haven't watched any of his stuff since then.
Rogue not being able to steal Carol’s ability seems like a missed opportunity.
There are a number of things that seem like they should be Ongoing abilities but aren't. I'm guessing they were too broken (either for good or bad) or nonsense when interacting with other things (Isle of Silence, Spectrum, Onslaught)

The more I play, the more it just seems weird that there’s a category of abilities that cannot be stopped.
well it was bound to happen sometime but my first time sliding from 2 cubes short of a rank to 2 levels short of a rank sure feels bad. I could have avoided this if I had just tricked my one bot match into thinking they were ahead on t6 better. no one respected the couple cubes short title my entire slide tonight.
Yeah, gone from 81-96 with this:
# (2) Luke Cage
# (2) Hazmat
# (2) Zabu
# (2) Sentinel
# (2) Mysterio
# (2) Lizard
# (3) Bishop
# (4) Absorbing Man
# (4) Shang-Chi
# (4) Enchantress
# (4) Typhoid Mary
# (5) Sera
Seems good.
No Galactus counterplay though really, besides not playing cards.

I mean because they're not ongoing abilities. They're more like triggered or delayed abilities. Ongoing abilities provide some kind of effect that is persistent. Sunspot triggers at the end of turns. Carol and Dracula the end of the game. They're not doing anything outside of the triggered times.
I say check their hand first and see how many cards. If there's a lot in hand and they haven't played much it's likely they got a bunch of high cost cards in hand to start and the leech will help a lot. Earlier leeches tend to win games.

For most of them I think this is true, but then you get edge cases like Morbius (changes his power on a trigger, Ongoing) vs Bishop or the Collector (changes his power on a trigger, not Ongoing). I do kind of understand the Morbius one - it’s based on a measurable in-game stat like Devil Dino’s is - but because it can’t ever go down (even when Hela brings cards back Morbius’s power stays the same) it’s still a bit odd.
Question: You play Electro on Turn 3 with Sandman and Leech in hand. Which do you drop first and why?
I understand both cards are situationally different based on locations and cards in play, but generally speaking, which would you lean towards?
I wouldn't have both in the same deck, I don't think.
Both hose the opponent from time to time, but going T4,T5 Leech and Sandman means you're probably losing on power.

Unless that Leech is going into a Lockjaw.
They're both in my Ramp deck and basically act as shutdown redundancy. It's rare to have both in my hand at the same time, and I need a 5 drop to curve off Electro on turn 3. Dropping either on turn 4 is often a win. I've been climbing hard with this deck, although with Elysium as the hot location, I've been super climbing.

I would do neither because I don't hate the concept of my opponent playing the game. They're also both so insanely tempo negative, you're taking two turns off to add 7 or 8 power which is...low, so I don't even think they're necessarily good plays.

So it's different. If morbius said "after you discard a card" he'd have a non ongoing ability. The downside would be, like Bishop, he wouldn't see the cards you discarded before he was played and wouldn't gain the power. I suppose you could make him non ongoing if you wrote it "at the end of the game I gain 2 power for every card you discarded this game" but given there isn't an in game way to see that information that's probably a memory issue.
honestly the distinction for ongoing in that sense makes perfect sense. because bishop and collector are NOT constant effects. they are conditional of "When X happens, Y happens" but X is not always happening so it's not ongoing. with ongoing cards the effect is ALWAYS happening even if you cant see it at that exact moment.

Yeah if anyone played magic it's the difference between static and triggered abilities. If it's "after" (Bishop) or "at" (Captain Marvel) or "when" (Deadpool) it's a trigger.
If they don't like the Shuri Supremacy, they shouldn't give everyone the "Win a location with 20 or more power" as a season mission. Gotta do that 20 times (plus I also have a daily to do it 4 more times), so uh... I guess I'm playing Shuri this weekend.
I don't even want to, but that's going to be the fastest way to get it done win or lose.
You do have a week to complete it though.
I'm up to 17/20 with my list, which has Bishop and Mary as the only big hitters.
Cer3bgo would also get to 20 with a full lane and one boost.
I'd be surprised if most any deck couldn't get there unless it's full control.
Really the only season quest I change decks for are Discard quests, because the discard location doesn't increase the counter, so you're relying on getting random cards instead..

I cruised through the 20 power pretty easily with Negative. Deck goes biiiiig.
it seems like every time I actually do get 20 in a lane it's always the name my opponent gets like 30+ in basically every time. or when I can get to 20 my opponent leaves before the turn resolves.
I switched to an infinaut deck that at least basically guarantees me one per match even if I lose so there's that at least. It still took me way too many matches to get even close
of course the second I DID finish the quest I got the tokens to get shuri. so I guess I can do it very easily next time at least.

Yay I hit 60(5) for the first time. Got that hooded Spider-Man variant which I’m not certain but that might actually be scarlet spider? Idk, Spider-Man has also just had infinite different costumes so anything is possible and I am not the most in the know.
I got… utterly destroyed by a play though. I won that game but it was emotionally devastating. Opponent plays cloak on a spot t5. I’m playing patriot and realize “I can move my things there to max out a t6 ultron.” Opponent moves some things and plays kingpin in that lane. It kills all of our stuff. I’m not sure if they were aware that would happen. I end up winning that lane with just ultron vs kingpin+cloak, and another lane they only left 3 power in.
If I had just ignored cloak I’d have won by a lot instead of by 2 points. I also didn’t realize kingpin would do that since he flipped second and after the moves but I guess he sees all of t6?

Ah Mary, that would do it yes"

Played Negasonic control to clear my "win matches with a snap" mission because I figured it's easy to snap people with Daredevil and they'll just leave. Bad cube equity, great for completing the mission. Favorite game didn't even have Daredevil, but it did involve a Snap on 5. Opponent plays Electro in one lane, Doc Ock in another, pulling all of my cards except for one: Spider-Man, so I snap. Spider-Man flips, his finger must have been hovering over the retreat button because he was gone before the animation finished.
It turns out when the opponent's deck is so obvious you don't even need Daredevil.
I usually sit at 50-55 at seasons end, which is fine with me. I like the game and I have fun.
This weekend I probably went like, 10-140, and I have no idea why. Every deck I played got countered with bullshit. Black Panther/Zola, then I'd add Shang Chi to a deck and now its Patriot/Mystique. Then Cerebro/Mystique. Then Galactus.
Went from 56 to 39. What the hell happened.
It also happened immediately after buying Zabu, which was a bummer.

Can s4/5 drops be in any cache or is it just the card one in each set? I’ve been basing my progress going back to my last two cards in a row which was knull then next cache kingpin, but counting out from there it breaks at a certain point and I hit 2 cards in one set so I’m wandering it the other series cards throw off or supersede the sets of 4

Just the guaranteed card Cache. So yeah, one in every 4 Caches you open will have a guaranteed Series 3 card that has a miniscule chance of "upgrading" to a Series 4 or Series 5 card.
You're guaranteed a Series 4 card for every 40 Caches you open, BUT, it isn't on the 40th Cache. You could open a Series 4 card then wait another 79 Caches before opening another. A good rule of them is to expect a Series 4 card every 40-50 Caches. Sometimes fewer, sometimes more.

The featured location is probably not going to hurt any either, unless I start running into electro good stuff with Sandman.
Even then, Enchantress.

Stop looking at my cards!
Guy saw my turn 6 double Shang-chi that was going to annihilate his potential Zola'd panther.
So he retreated.
