    This is me posting my regular reminder that how a letter is pronounced in a word has no inherent bearing on how it's pronounced when it's part of an acronym that's also pronounced like a word. Like if that's your personal reason for preferring a certain pronunciation that's fine, but it's not at all an established grammatical rule and it's kind of annoying when people try and use that to justify their personal opinion/preference as "correct". (Not that anyone here is doing that, but I've definitely met people who get really annoying about stuff like gif, even as someone who does pronounce it with a hard g.)
