    What's a good name for the turmoil in the late Byzantine Empire when the emperors attempted to reconcile the orthodox church with the Pope at the council of Florence? The Union Revolt?

    The April Fools of this is that the military aid the Emperor hoped for as a result of bending the knee resulted in the disastrous battle of Varna

    LEGO recently contacted us with an opportunity to examine a prototype model, so we could give feedback in advance of release.

    010423 The Majestic Horse looks impressive on the packaging and we can publish our feedback publicly, which is decidedly mixed.

    April Fool’s can be fun so long as you remember the tier list.

    F: Lying about serious shit. Pulling pranks that could hurt people. Fuck you.
    D : Lying about less serious shit or pulling dumb but harmless pranks.
    C: Lying about things that aren’t important but could be cool.
    B: Lying about things that are goofy or terrible and you wouldn’t expect to be true.
    A: Lying about cool shit but it’s actually true.
    S: Lying about things that are goofy and you wouldn’t expect to be true…and then announce that it is.

    Even before GS killed it, there was a changeover where the April 1st product mentality switched from “Oh, you really like that? Ok, we’ll make some!” and changed to “We’re gonna make these we just want to gauge buzz so see how many we should produce”

    … and then into “this is just when we launch new products now, they’re not that much sillier than anything else silly we sell”
