What I hate despite it being against school rules is people bringing large dogs onto school property to pick up their kids. Like I have no idea if you're husky is a good boy, I know by the time I know he isn't my kid could be severely hurt. And yet I often see people with large breeds just walking them around. Sometimes without any kind of restraint on which seems fucking mad house to me.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

I like bulldogs they seem chill most of the time

I also met a old collie once that was so sweet and relaxed. Granted I'm pretty sure living where she was she was getting hotboxed in that house on a regular basis.

Leonbergers are delightful friends and I love em.
My if-only dog is a Tibetan mastiff. Can you imagine??!?

I was looking for a good photo of a Tibetan mastiff to show the thread and I was surprised to see their life expectancy is 12-15 years!! That's actually amazing for a giant breed!

On DeSantis re-election numbers. I'm pretty sure it greatly helped him when he opted not to fuck up the federal response to Hurricane Ian; especially, given how many of his fellow republicans were calling for him to do just that. It likely made him look sane to many low information voters. Probably the biggest thing that helped hi right after the Florida Democratic party reminding everyone that they are still the worst party in the US, when they selected Crist as their candidate.

So I wouldn't say his fight with Disney helped him; especially, when the people that really ate that shit up were shithead conservatives, that were already voting for the piece of shit.

As for the mouse and SC. I doubt they'd take Haley up on her offer. They probably figure they can outlast DeSantis's fascist ass. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they started shopping for a new east coast location because even if Florida had a governor that swore fealty to them, climate change is still a huge fucking problem and there a fuck ton of demerits that it adds to Florida as a location. Storm walls will do fuck all about nastier and possibly more frequent hurricanes and won't help against sinkholes from salt water intrusion in the limestone bedrock that the entire state sits on. Probably some ways offs and obviously, they won't do it overnight. So can't really fault any politician for trying to entire Disney to setup shop in their state. It's a ton of jobs and Disney will probably be doing some sort of move in the future.
Im not going to fault someone for voting for him because the GOP is worse, especially in a state that actually matters. I just think its a shitty marketing pitch.

Fair enough and boy do I wish the democrats had a better sales pitch to go along side it. I mean, if the party continues to be the big tent party, there are always going to be a chunk of voters that will be greatly upset with whoever they end up picking. Just wish it didn't feel like that is the sales pitch be made to the majority of people that are going to be voter for the candidate.

Really wish we had ranked choice voting. That way even if someone's vote eventually settles on a candidate who they feel has a sale's pitch of "at least I'm not as fucking awful as the republicans." They at least get the benefit of checking the box of a candidate they really like as their first choice before that candidate gets eliminated for having the current lowest number of votes.

Cane Corsos can be great! We have an incredibly smart meatball named Juno in our advanced classes, she looks like a gargoyle half the time, it rules

But they're also the current breed shitty owners who want to be macho are picking up in our area; not sure if this is a broader trend or just an irresponsible breeder in the area

The thing about a lot of large dogs is that (with some exceptions), most of them are far too lazy to bother killing you, not to mention their general fondness for the giant ape that feeds them every day.

It’s not so bad going down because I generally go first, but he’s older and has a lot of leg weakness so I usually try to make him go upstairs in front of me to be safe, and it’s rough.

I do know the worst dog for farts has to be a boston terrier. My grandmother had a dog that could clear a house with his farts. And not like a small house, dog just had something inside of him that was foul. You could bottle that shit and use it for crowd dispersal.

This is an absolutely glorious speech given in the Irish Parliament

The speaker is @paulmurphy_TD, of the Irish People Before Profit party, I believe. The party explicitly is about fighting for workers and eco-socialism.

At the very least, the Disney thing continues to allow other GOP people to dunk on DeSantis, which is really funny.

I love this stuff because I love the concept that somebody things Disney is going to move four whole amusement parks, 20 hotels, tons of parking space, and Disney Springs to another state.

    Yeah, that's a thing that's possible.
All Disney needs to do is shift the stick from Amusement Park to Amusement Drive and they can go anywhere they want

Today I was informed that because of a complaint filed by David Begley, I am under official investigation for a conflict of interest for standing for trans rights.

My colleagues stood up offering support, but I don't need their words. I need their vote.

Nebraska State Senator accused of having a conflict of interest in her opposition to anti-trans bills because she has a trans child

Montana State Rep. Zooey Zephyr (D) ahead of vote to bar her from the state House for the rest of the session:

“I have had friends who have taken their lives because of these bills ... When I rose up and said, 'There is blood on your hands,' I was not being hyperbolic.”

68-32: The Montana House votes along party lines to censure State Rep. Zooey Zephyr (D), barring her from the state House for the rest of the legislative session. She can vote remotely, but will not be allowed to speak on any bills.

Montana Republicans punished State Rep. Zephyr (D) for what the GOP said were breaches of House decorum.

On Monday, Zephyr raised her microphone in support of protesters chanting “Let her speak!” after the Republican Speaker refused to acknowledge Zephyr.

Based on the how the bill is badly written, yeah

I'd say I'm surprised, but with how splattershot conservative outrage laws have been its not very. Like these things are seemingly passed with a nudge nudge wink wink don't worry if you're certain people it won't apply, but I certainly wouldn't trust that shit legally.
