Wrapped up the Luofu story and hit pity for Jingliu, who should help as I push in EQ 3, as I didn’t really have anyone that felt like a true DPS character.

I hope they get a more creative with “dungeon” areas. Scalegorge Waterdeep felt like it should have been much more than it was.

I feel the opposite! "Exploring" the fenced-in areas isn't enough fun that I want more of that, and the vista-badguys-vista setup in the Waterscape is much more my thing than the container-ship sections of the Loufu were.

Certainly the general feel of combat spaces is not suggestive of aptitude on their part for making an engaging Dungeon. I just feel like it fell short in terms of some nebulous personal idea of a Final Dungeon space.

I do like that they include various Trial characters in different content. Though I wondered why you didn’t get to use Welt at different points in the Luofu arc.

So far the deadpan interaction humor in this game is game is so eclectic it just kind of becomes funny. Like the writing completely and unapologetically leaning into the bit with all the trash cans/dumpsters and the whole sequence with the hotel survey card. It really does a good job of making me want to go around and just interact with whatever I find.

It's a breath of fresh air in gacha gaming. Most gacha games I've tried are either serious or just do basic anime trope stuff. Even if 100% of the jokes don't land I still like the fact they are actually trying something different. And if you don't feel like dealing with the silliness dialogue always has a more serious option and you can just walk past the trashcans so the whole thing isn't forced on you.

Nice, my all ice team with March, Pela, Yanqing and Herta just got a big boost after picking up Jingliu and kicking Herta to the curb. It only really works in specific forgotten halls and SU and immediately dies to those frozen immune ice elemental ELITES, but when it works it really works.

There is 100% a One Piece fan on the dev or localization team; every third rah-rah Trailblazer line is just standard Monkey D Luffy dialogue.

But this game gets as weird with it as Disco Elysium does, if much less often, if you'd rather go that route instead.

So my Qingque has been bullying the deer in SU7 for awhile now, and I already made a video showing how much she can trivialize it with the Propogation path. But I just had an instance that I just had to take another clip of.

I want to stress that it's the Simulated Universe with path of propogation that is doing most of the heavy lifting. That path is what takes her from being merely strong to busted. Normally it takes a few attacks to kill the thing as well (or at least the autarky follow-up attack), like the previous video; this was a particularly strong run, where I got the occurrence that gives you 300 credits and a negative curio, and then I got the curio that increases your credits by 50%, and then I got the one that consumes all your credits to give you a crit damage boost.

All that said, this is my QQ.

Light cone is at S3. I'm mostly a fan of it because there's really not any other battlepass light cones I care about; it's only a marginal improvement over an S5 Seriousness of Breakfast. She's E6, and trace levels are at 7/10/10 for basic/talent/skill (including plusses from eidolons). Using 4pc quantum set and 2pc rutilant arena, of course.

... it's really weird than Fu Xuan has as much synergy as she does with the Destruction tree in SU. Energy on damage taken, bonus HP, and a bunch of the revenge shields are super helpful.

Also, the R buff that drops everyone to 40% trips her passive, which can get really silly with the right other-tree pickups.

The sidequests in this game are very averse to happy endongs. Got a number of them so far that are "yeah you're gonna get paid, but you're not gonna be happy about it."

I also found that one unmarked quest that was almost 1:1 lifted from Bloodborne. The moment I got the ribbon off the little treasure pig I knew it was gonna be a bad time.

No sign of Jingliu so far, just fail protect purples every time. On the plus side it's been giving me Qingque... again and again and again - so now I have Qingque with three Eidolons. So I guess that's good.

Also got Sampo with one eidolon. He's an annoying story character but man is he ruthless in combat. (always how that shit goes)

Awww yeah Jingliu get. Had enough exp items to boost her up to battle ready, but now I need to find some gear that isn't come basic assed cowboy threads. I

I've noticed that for someone who's ostensibly a Harmony character, Asta can really belt out some fire damage. Her ult is also great for giving the middle finger to those caster monsters that have a billion speed and immediately open the battle with a three-person cleave.

Edit: What happens if you pull a character when you already have all of the eidolons? The game's showering me with Qingque for some reason and I'm at 5/6 now.

You just get more of the special store currency for the monthly store tab once you pass 6/6. I forget the numbers but it’s a pretty solid jump that you can turn into more tickets or any of the standard banner 5* light cones

If I get a fourth fire character I'm definitely gonna make a themed team out of it, Asta plus Hook is already pretty good. There's not really a SU build you can make from it like with ice and remembrance though.

She's good at breaking enemies weak to fire but you can't rely on her damage in the long run, she just can't keep up with properly built dps characters. In the end she's there mostly to buff your other characters just like other Harmony characters.

I mean sure sky is blue, but the game only gave me Asta so far so that's what I use if I need anything for reliable fire break. If the game ever bothers to give me Hook one day instead of Qingque #6 I'll be good to go.

Imagine wanting to get Hook over a sixth copy of Qingque. Heresy.

Seriously though, using Asta for fire breaking is totally fine. I just wouldn't advise trying to build attack, crit, or fire damage on her. As long as she has the speed and energy recharge she needs to do her job, I'd honestly recommend focusing on HP and Defense after that. Maybe some break effect here and there.

Yeah, speaking of what's a dps and what isn't. Qingque is one of the best 4* dps characters in the game. Especially since you have her E4 already. She'll probably do more damage against a fire weak enemy than E0 Hook and will certainly beat her 10-0 against an enemy weak to quantum.

  • Options
AshtonDragonAshtonDragon AKA The Nix Registered User regular
We're a little off-topic. Hook is fine if you want to use her; certainly not a meta character, but I'm confident she does the job. Qingque was my favorite character in this game though even before I knew she was any good.

I like how the conversation about Qingque went from "she's good but can waste all of your skillpoints on RNG" to "dumping all of your skillpoints into her is amazing"

It genuinely feels bad when Qingque's turn rolls around and she already has Hidden Hand. I'm being deprived of my big numbers!

Well, they are both true really. If you are super unlucky and waste like 4 SP chasing that last tile it feels like crap. That's rather rare though. Also she really gets a big power boost from her eidolons, E4 for damage and E6 for a lot easier SP management so early in when people didn't have those eidolons she wasn't nearly as good.

But yeah, there's no other character whose damage can be either like 6k or 60k depending on whether she gets that last tile and autarky or not.

Started testing out my E2 Dragon Dan with Yukong, E1 Bronya with signature LC, and Luocha. Supposedly it's supposed to work out great but it definitely feels a bit clunky right now. I'm pretty sure I even have my speeds properly tiered with Yukong -> Lunae -> Bronya -> Luocha, but it still just doesn't feel quite right. It _is_ pretty strong though!

The closest comparison is Clara. Sometimes enemies don't attack her at all and it feels really bad. Sometimes even with an aggro boost from Lynx or March, enemies just really want to attack Tingyun.

So now I'm the manager of a museum with all the responsibilities it entails, up to and including checking resumes and sitting in on interviews for guest staff.

What is this effort in a gacha game

    Edit: And there's E6 Qingque
