That's funny because I feel like TotK is better for me. Lots of fixes for the things that annoyed me about BotW.
I finally beat BotW last night after 70+ hours in it, and still left a *ton* unfinished. Part of me wants to jump right into TotK but I also want to wait for it to go on sale (lol). I'm thinking I'll get back into Hollow Knight and make some progress, but I'm kinda itching for an RPG.

A break might be sensible. TotK is very much BotW but MORE. Going straight from one to the other feels like a recipe for burnout.
I've barely played TotK, because my wife has the annoying habit of leaving the game paused in mid-game while she charges her Switch, so I can't take the cartridge out when I do have the opportunity.

I'm enjoying my BotW run immensely, finding things I never saw in my first run, but it feels like I'm seeing more *yet* am taking longer to find enough shrines for the Master Sword. I can't remember how I pulled it off last time.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
No, seriously, look up how to force a hard shutdown with the power button and try again. I had this happen once and that sorted it.
hold down the power button for much longer than you think you could possibly need to to force it to shut down, like 15-20 seconds, then turn it back on and see if that helps

Just tried that and it got further... Now the light comes up on the dock but that's it. Still no picture.
Try to clean out any dust from inside the USB-C connectors, on the dock as well as the Switch. You might need a small electronics vacuum. (Or maybe compressed air will work, but that might just blow it in harder....) I did just have a similar problem with a best buy dock where cleaning things out got the picture working again.
There are cases where enough of the USB-C connector is damaged that dock connections break down even though charging is still possible. Although you can buy replacement parts, if you don't know someone handy with soldering, you might be best off with asking Nintendo to repair. (just make sure your saves are backed up and don't give them your SD card!)
one other thing to check, do you have (i think its called) CIC where your inputs auto switch to a device that gets powered? Like if you have a tv with a fire stick and then you plug in the switch to the dock does it auto bring that up? You may want to manually force the input change just to make sure its using HDMI 1, 2, or 3.
My brother has his switch hooked up to the TV . He uses the pro controller to turn the switch on but the TV will not go to the channel HDMI 3 when he does. It's random when does though

Different pins on USB ports are used for different things. And add on that Nintendo did some shenanigans with their implementation of the USBC standard and it's not surprising.
