...which is a lot harder to do than you'd think. Most of the really good ones only come in "we'll do your roof" for you numbers. I don't need many, I just need two. Closer to 500w a panel the better.
Depending on your use case, have you looked into camping solar panels?
Given how dirty (in every sense of the word) small gas engines are, there's no reason to not go electric these days.
Also, had my site survey for my solar install today. Tech came and crawled through the attic, looked at the services, inspected the roof, and in general got all the details for the engineers to make the final plan for the house. We should have the plan in about two weeks, and then we have the permit wait.
We did 12kW solar three years ago. Locked into a 1.49% rate. It pays for itself.
Good luck on your install. Do you get SREC credits where you are? Those cover about 40% of my monthly payment by themselves and I’ve not had an electric bill since the install.
Edit also the tax incentives are amazing still, so don’t forget to leverage those in your return next year.
The loan is set up to factor in a 10k tax rebate next year.

The 8-Bit Guy has a few videos going over getting and using second hand panels that you might want to check out.

I've been sending my people around for ages, and you never answer your door. The jerks in the Petty Complaints Thread made one of them cry and quit, I'm done with the lot of you.
after saying positive thinks about my ego mower the self propel function decided to die as i started the backyard this morning
so that was fun and i guess i'll find out what the repair process is like...
edit: turns out the power train was just minorly bound up, cleaned it and lubed it so that's probably user error because i've never greased a thing on it since buying it
Finally got my security deposit back from previous landlord. They did end up deducting a "standard cleaning fee" for $130 which is bullshit and I could definitely fight it, but it's not worth the time I'd have to take off work for court business. So I'll just give them the middle finger, write a bad review for all the good that'll do, and move on.
I ended up finding a local guy that was able to repair my mower for like $100, which is way better than having to buy a new mower. He also sharpened the blade and did a few other tune up tweaks.
Though, I haven’t used it yet because shortly after I got it home it started raining. So now I have to wait for things to dry out a bit before using it.

Best investment I’ve ever made was joining my job’s legal service plan (which costs me like $2.50 out of each paycheck) because I could call up an attorney and have them write threatening demand letters to my landlord anytime they tried to pull some bullshit.
If you happen to have such a service offered by your job (it’s part of the package offered by a lot of major payroll and benefit companies), absolutely take it just for this alone.
Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

It is definitely the chewy season for lawnmowing. Spent half an hour mowing and ten minutes grouting out the uniform two-inch layer of soggy mulch laminated to the inside of my mower with an old ice scraper.
Just the worst time of year to own no goats.

I haven't mowed in (i think) over a month, because the weather was so punishingly hot and the grass obligingly stopped getting longer. It's starting to get mangy, though.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to mow for the first time in a month tomorrow because we've been in a big drought but good two good days of rain this week and the grass went nuts.
The previous HOA board didn't save money right so they're replacing the tile roofs on all the houses which is earlier than it needs to be done and after they got the estimate it's 3k more expensive per house than they had estimated. Which I'm guessing is because of some bullshit of who they chose since one of the boardmembers wanted to delay the vote and when he left to go to work or get a kid they voted for it anyway without him. We'll be able to do the payment with saving and cutting down on extras or taking a loan out of my 401k.
But the part that got me the maddest was in the Facebook group for the community one guy who always complains about how dogshit the HOA board is, which it is, and a bunch of people agreed. Then the head o the board made a post blaming the past HOA and then blamed the cost on Bidenomics so then three of us including me called her out with somebody calling her an asshole for bringing politics into it when it's just their dogshit management. Can't wait to move out of this place.
What do you want from me, Home Depot? What could I possibly say in this review?
"It holds my butt real good while I shit."
Is that what you want?
So i just bought a new seat myself this weekend. When i got home l found out the included installation hardware was different then the mounting points on the seat. Something at the factory got mixed up. One star from me.
Next is the inspection by the county to certify the install, then the installation by the utility company of the net flow meter - and then we're crafting bespoke electrons!
I need to plan out a layout for installing sunsails over our driveway, does anyone know of a good program/site where I could put in my driveway measurements and try to figure out an ideal layout?
Why do people give bad reviews for shipping issues?! Do they really not understand the difference between reviewing a company and a single product?
I don't think so
I mean, I've seen people on Amazon answering questions about the product with "I don't know"
...like, do you realize you're allowed to not answer?
FWIW it's also the only avenue most people have to provide feedback on the service itself. Like, if the Amazon Prime website had a x/5 star tracker at the top that was just for the site as a whole you'd probably see most of those reviews show up there instead. But Amazon/Home Depot etc definitely don't want to make that kind of information which they largely get through customer surveys after CS interactions publicly available as it'd likely look really really bad. And not just the site as a whole, but as all these storefronts move to a "marketplace" model where fly-by-night companies with randomly generated 4-6 letter names show up, sell some products and disappear, it's often the only way at all to provide any feedback on those sellers.

Oh I know, it annoys me but mostly just having fun.
But leaving reviews for anything other than the actual product really only hurts other customers. If you hate HD because of their anti-union views, good! But giving a fridge zero stars doesn't help me compare models when I need to use their CC for the 0% financing.
I mainly only read the one star reviews for a product, not because I implicitly think they're more representative than the 5 stars, but because even ignoring the review content, the kind of people who complain about a thing tells you a lot.
What I do hate is the amazon/etsy habit of clumping reviews (Etsy is worse for this because the reviews are already per shop, not per item, but it will happen in Amazon too, I think if the seller changes a listing instead of making a new one). If I'm trying to buy a side table, I don't necessarily need to know how someone feels about their cross-stitched wall hanging.
Next is the inspection by the county to certify the install, then the installation by the utility company of the net flow meter - and then we're crafting bespoke electrons!
And we've been inspected and approved. Final step is the installation of the net flow meter, then we get to flip the switch!

normally I'd go for a listing with photos , but the video kinda is necessary to show this place off
maintaining those colors can probably only be done when you're paying someone to clean full time
besides the practical aspects, it looks fun to be in
