Teaser Trailer For The [Trailers] Thread

Wow...that reminds me of how the trailer to the Phantom Menace was spine chillingly good, and was rewatched a billion times in my dorm at Uni - and the film was...'fine'.

You reminded me of friends who were so excited for Attack of the Clones they kept falling for badly edited fan trailers on iTunes (maybe? They had a Mac and I'm not sure where you got internet trailers in 2001). One of the more memorable ones they showed me saying "the fight scenes in this movie are going to be crazy!" And it was just a scene from Braveheart with lightsabers edited over the weapons

So I’m not super familiar with Trek but are those standard TNG red shirt uniforms? I had a thought that it’d be funny if it were admiralty uniforms that they were cosplaying in the holodeck with and then transporter shenanigans ensue

they are an excellent "real" copy of the animated uniform (which is a follow on from the DS9/TNG movie ones)
turned out much better than I expected!

Let's say I signed up for Paramount + a few months ago and forgot to cancel it, and in the meantime have not watched much Star Trek related since DS9 and the first 2 Abrams movies.
... where the hell do I start?

Lower Decks and/or Strange New Worlds is pretty much all you need for all killer no filler, but DISCO series 3+ is also quite solid. (Series 3 is kind of a soft-ish reboot)
The last JJ film is also not bad, word of warning that LD starts out quite LOUD and WACKY for the first couple of episodes but settles down into something genuinely great.

I have long thought about doing a first time watch of TOS and a rewatch of TNG. I used to stay up late and watch it with mom, but the DVDs were so expensive back in the day to rewatch.
I distinctly remember trying to get reception on the Chicago UPN station to watch the premiere of Voyager, and only getting a fuzzy black and white image. This was before I learned that the local Fox affiliate would rebroadcast it.

"Helm buy me some time"
"Um, how do I do that, sir"
"Just circle around and pretend we're in awe of the pylons."
*DS9 fanfare plays*
*ship completely circumnavigates the station*
"Um...sir?"
"Just keep circling."
*DS9 fanfare repeats*

Disco Season 2 introduces Captain Pike and Spock, which isn't necessary to understand Strange New Worlds, but its more time with those characters.
Now, I've got a much better sense - midlife crisis GenX/Millenials!
... which I am fine with because I loved the Lego Movie.
My current headcanon is that Will Farrell is playing President Business in this film too.
Yeah the first 30 seconds I went "oh the lego movie plot, well ok" and then WF showed up in the exact same role was wild.
I still want to check this out, theres some setup there for good comedy.

Even with Stringer Bell, Hijack looks stupid, especially if it's a show and not a movie. Just watch the last episode, a duh. And then you find out (I'm guessing) the new husband of Elba's ex-wife is actually the bad guy all along and something something faaaaaart.
edit: Ryan Gosling literally attempting to be a TexiKen is not classy, I feel violated and insulted.

Then let's just reboot TOS and start over.
That’s a bit on the nose

Who wants to watch 7 hours of this? Why isnt this a 90 minute movie?
Last trailer, I wasn't sure who this was for.
