Okay but hear me out, my two current go-to weapons are a sword with a lizard tongue lashed to the end of it, and a 10' halberd stuck to the end of a second 10' halberd that the game has dubbed a "halberd-halberd."
I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.
Sometimes I'm thinking about maybe getting a cheaper (well, "cheaper") mirrorless camera, but on the other hand, my iPhone is probably good enough for 90% of stuff.
But nah, I get that some games aren't for everyone, even really good ones. I'm still bummed that I can't play Outer Wilds, because I love everything about the game except that the core gameplay loop is racing against a clock. I hate hate hate time limits in games. I want to take my time.

I used to classify myself as moderate, leaning liberal a long time ago but I basically went full tilt L when Obama ran the first time. The Republicans were already on my shit list because of W, but their fuckery during the 2008 race and the ensuing years solidified it. ‘16 to present was the last nail in that coffin that basically guaranteed I’ll never vote R in my lifetime

Yeah but it's still BoTW's combat system. I think it'd be cool to look at.
Besides, I'm coming from the position of someone who has used a Lance Gun shaped like Corn, it takes a lot.

Yeah I bounced off the Outer Wilds, as well. I think it was just the controls were clunky and made my time with it feel like a chore rather than being transparent and just letting me concentrate on the game itself.
But yeah, all types!

War spears on Conan Exiles are bullshit unless I’m using them and my enemy isn’t
then it’s fine
You go in the cage, cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water, our shark.
Just some basic stuff for now, pictures of kiddos sports, the doggo doing stuff, maybe some automotive shots, wildlife at the farm. Then I'm also thinking about dipping into astrophotography which looks like the basics are around another $500-1000 to start getting interesting stuff. But I still should be able to do some somewhat neat to me basic stuff with the setup I'll have.
ah yeah that should be plenty good for your use cases
i went from a really basic canon rebel something something to an 80d and the biggest difference i noticed was the autofocus speed which made it a lot easier to take pics of moving targets, everything quality wise was pretty similar outside of that

A vendor I like has really excellent "expect to self rescue" patches and stickers with a stylized campfire that I want on a shirt as a mental health affirmation but they won't use the same designs on their shirts and instead have dumb ones. Unfortunate!
In the meanwhile I'm just white-knuckling it over a jar of chunky Jif and waiting for my HEALTH and teddy bear shirts to come in

honestly i'm really put off using my iphone lately with how the algorithms on it seem to butcher some photos
if you take a live photo and press it, you can see how it looked and then you can see the iphone automatically editing it and it blows the shit out of blues and whites
pics end up looking like shit from instagram circa 2012

There's an indie game called Unsighted where every single NPC (even shopkeepers) and you have a death timer constantly counting down.
You can get a certain item to extend it but there's not enough to save everyone.
The devs allow you to turn it off but I felt like it was well done. It's not restrictive enough to severely hamper your gameplay if you want to explore a bit, but it definitely resolves the issue with open-world games having zero urgency.

If you've got the funds for it, modern cameras and lenses are incredible.
Not gonna lie, I got an S23 Ultra and the camera(s) on this thing are pretty incredible for most day to day stuff. Even compared to my old S8, the zoom and low light stuff is like magic.

I would say 99% of the NPC's you'll see kick the bucket are the ones in the background just traipsing around with zero story importance, so it definitely lends an atmospheric weight to see the towns start to clear out. Only a few main NPC's would get the axe.
It's more like a 2D Zelda game in its size than something like Elden Ring.
There's joy in creating efficiency. Would you play a racing game that didn't time your laps? Would you play an RTS where the enemy never attacked, leaving you time to just sit in a corner of the map and research and build for two hours? No.

You're still working towards efficiency. A death timer on NPCs = find efficiencies

Ok but those games are where having a time limit is important or integral to the core mechanic whatever. I just don’t like feeling rushed or stressed by that stuff hence I don’t usually engage with those types of games

Zelda is playing remarkably well on Yuzu right now, with patch 1.1.2 at a rock-solid 60fps at 1440p on my desktop oled display.
This got patched to be good and playable on an emulator in record time.
There is even a mod to replace the pro controller visual with the xbox controller visual when they show how to do something on screen, and provide the correct button names for the ABXY layout.
Oh, and mods to get rid of weapon durability if you are a godless heathen. I fkn love saving my damaged weapons for a quick one-hit knockdown on an enemy.

Maybe a hook on one end and some sort of giant axe blade on the other?
Or a spear and then some absurd chained ball situation
Gameplay always wins out over graphics.
