Choosing between two video cards?

Hi. If you would be so kind as to help me compare these two video cards.

I'm really terrible with computers and such, so I can't tell why one is 60 more than the other. Is there a noticeable difference between the more expensive one that justifies the higher price?

Or even better, if there are any AGP cards between the 100 - 160 range that are better than the ones posted above, please do tell.

Thanks.

A quick look at Toms Hardwares VGA charts shows that the 7600GT can get some significant performance increases over the 7600GS. Linky linky. The two cards you linked should be highlighted in blue. That one shows a difference of 12.9 FPS for that game.

Other tests on that site show that the GT is consistently better than the GS even when you ramp up the AA and AF.

    Double posting for the win.

Anyway, further research seems to suggest the the 7600GT is the best nvidia card you can possibly get without laying down a lot of dough for PCIe. It is cheaper than the 7800GS and seems to perform just as well if not better than the 7800GS (I have the BFG 7800GS and after doing that research I'm slightly regretting it but I'm not even sure there was a 7600GT on the market when I bought it so whatever).

Looks like the best bang for your buck award goes to the 7600GT.

Yep, just bought that card (7600gt) for my wife's computer. Quite the upgrade from the Radeon 9700pro that I put in there back in 2002. :)

damn you could get a card that could blow both of those out of the water for the same price if you just upgraded to PCI-E D:

also the diff is like they said GS and GT, also the XFX is overrall a nicer card in terms of features

Ah, alright. Thanks a lot. Looks like I'll dish out the extra 60.
