Yeah. Very tight tolerances, places where pieces need to be loose but the instructions don't indicate it, and even some cases where I swear you need to put the pins in just as depicted or the things will never go together right.

I've found that when you have to press, like, 6 pins together at once, it's much easier if they're all aligned the same way. You can finagle the direction you're installing it to kind of press down on the pins to make them slide in more smoothly.

The larger car sets make you do this A LOT.

I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.

Yup, I learned that from Dom's Charger.

All right there are some real fragile connections here that I actually want to glue together. Anyone have experience with thatM

I got 90% of the way through the NES before I realized I didn't properly connect the spring axles that work the entire cartridge assembly. Turns out I had to push them hard all the way into the sprockets, then the spring mechanism properly works. It was fun trying to work out how to take enough of the frame layers off, but also reverse assemble it so I could just snap the whole thing back as one piece when I was done. And then more fun working out just how much I'd have to dissasemble to get at these springs. Too small and tight a space and fingers too fat.

I say fun... and I actually kind of meant it. I wasn't really annoyed much. Working out how to fix the problem was genuinely a hoot. And if it came down to it and I had to restart a massive chunk from scratch? I was already feeling a bit melancholy at the thing being almost done. Any excuse to keep it going!

This is part of my enjoyment of Lego as well. I usually mess around with DIY and handicraft projects that are far less forgiving to mistakes. Like fixing a sink, papercrafting, gardening... With Lego it's just all about following instructions and if you make a mistake you can fix it with no risk of breaking anything.

    Ye gods.

Also fun fact, my wife is 145cm, so if I built this it'd be taller than her.

In conclusion, the only reliable way to determine what’s in a LEGO Marvel Series 2 blind box is with a precision scale. That’s all we know for now, and don’t get distracted by someone who tells you otherwise, or if you’ve read on sites that don’t do their due diligence on this.

There may be a new discovery on codes, but so far, no one has cracked it yet, if there is one to find.

Or… you could always just buy a complete box, trade or split a box up with a friend to guarantee getting all characters in a set. Or head to eBay or Bricklink where resellers will undoubtedly have a field day.

    https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/lego-marvel-minifigures-series-2-weight-guide-and-correcting-other-identification-myths/

I wish there was a more consistent way, but it looks like you gotta use a micro scale

Thanks to an early listing from a French retailer, we’ve got our first clear look at LEGO Ideas 21343 Viking Village, now confirmed by the same listing to be on its way from October 1. The European price is listed as €139.99, in line with earlier rumours from brick_clicker shared via falconbrickstudios of a price tag around $130. The piece count has also been confirmed 2,103, putting it pretty close to the original fan design from BrickHammer, which estimated around 2,100 pieces.

I can't find the post on my phone but what I did was replace both sides of the clips with 1x1 bricks with technic holes, three per clip pair, and used 3x1 technic pins to connect the parts. I want to say I did two on the black lion side with the stop on the pin between, and the third on the other lions. It has been rock solid.

Ok, back home now. So, as described above, I took two (2) 1x1 Technic Bricks with Pin Hole and a 3x1 Pin:

    fyly58e0eqx3.png

Then I assembled them with the ridge portion between the two bricks, as shown (not fully assembled yet, to highlight the ridge location):

    2c571fvt4uke.png

Once I had 5 of these put together, I took out the clip parts from the Black Lion and replaced, with the exposed pin facing outwards. The middle of the pin should be where the clips joined previously:

    dup97ibahoo8.jpg

Then I replaced all of the opposite clips in the black lion with 1x1 technic bricks with pin hole, with the red lion attached to the shoulder as shown below:

    on6sl1ya8ri6.jpg

Now you can plug back in the two shoulders of the black lion, and it looks totally the same, and retains the transformation.

The 1st of the month is usually pretty hectic with new launches and reveals, and LEGO have officially unveiled 40613 Mini Disney Palace of Agrabah, featuring a micro version of the Palace of Agrabah from Aladdin.

The Mini Palace of Agrabah set will be released on LEGO.com on 1 October 2023, and joins the Mini Disney Castle (2021) and Mini Haunted Mansion (2022) as this year’s miniaturised Disney setting.

    That looks so good.

I've watched probably every episode of Aladdin: the Series when it was on during the after-school cartoon block when I was a kid, it was kinda oddly foundational for me. I'm sorely tempted by that Agrabah.

Went and did a stint at the Mall of America Lego store. Wife and I each got a Dreamz set. She got the turtle camper and I got the one with the blacksmith and the wizard. We also got the custom printed mini figs witch turned out...ok? The sides and arms don't print to a color so they don't match, and the color I picked on the screen looked like it would match the accessory color but it doesn't quite

The code on the manual only awards you the 20 points for registering your set, the points you get from the formerly-known-as-VIP-program come from the receipt. Talking with Customer Service is probably the most reliable way to get that sorted.

The wife and I were at Target today and as we walked past the Lego section she grabbed the Sonic set and threw it in our basket and informed me I would be building it for her.

The finished set is really cute, particularly the enemies, and the Eggman and his flying machine are cleverly built. The build is kind of a slog, though, with most of the stage being comprised of checkerboards of 1x1 plates in alternating colors. If you're wondering how something so small can have 1100 pieces, that's why.

Still, it's a really great display piece, and it's only a few hours to assemble, so I'd still recommend it if you really like Sonic.

I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.

This hurts my soul... but I can't say I'm surprised.

The Super Mario blind sets went to these boxes, and I'd see a couple opened here or there. But that series wasn't anywhere near as popular as a marvel thing.

So of course, rather than feeling out the popular/expensive sets, people are tearing through them.
