The fingerprint scanner on the pixel 6 is trash too, I don't even use mine

I scanned all my fingertips, multiple angles of each, and it worked maybe half of the time

Scan at least one emergency finger on your other hand, though. First rule of biometrics is don't put all your thumbs in one basket.

And even that's not enough; I was on medication recently which basically made my fingerprints vanish for a few months, and no matter how much rescanning I did it wouldn't recognise them.

A threat actor has allegedly leaked data from 23andMe @23andMe
. They claim the data has a list of half of the users of 23andMe; 7 million. The data includes a lot of confidential information. #23andMe #DNA #Clearnet #DarkWeb #DarkWebInformer #Database #Leaks #Leaked
23andMe posted a blog yesterday saying that data from users of its genetic testing and analysis platform has been circulating on dark web forums after hackers used recycled logins to gain access to get into accounts. BleepingComputer wrote on Thursday that a hacker leaked what they said was “1 million lines of data” for Ashkenazi Jewish people before saying they would sell stolen 23andMe data for $1 – $10 per account. The data includes users’ names, profile photos, genetic ancestry results, date of birth, and geographical location.

The Frontier lineman came this weekend to run the fiber drop from the pole to the house

Now I just need to wait 2 weeks for the frontier tech to come and hook it up

Jealous, they ran everything down the street like 4 months ago, they STILL haven't gotten it done to connect our house...

Jealous-er, we're stuck with over the air TMobile or satellite Internet service

And it's frustrating because our neighbors a half mile down the road have cable

  • Options
sponospono Mining for Nose Diamonds Booger CoveRegistered User regular
    It almost didn't happen

On a pole on the opposite side of the neighbor's yard, there's a fiber terminal. There was one open port on the terminal for another cable. Also, the neighbor in question is an elderly person who does not speak great English, so she would not let the lineman into her backyard until I spoke with her daughter on the phone, which she held up to the window for me to yell into.

Long story short, get to know your neighbors

I would love to know what they intend to bury, seeing as there is a 50' coil of cable hanging from the side of my house

I restarted my phone today at noon, like I do most days. This time, all sorts of things changed subtly, I feel like I'm having some kind of nervous delusional episode.

All the apps on the "desktop" vanished, the colors of certain things changed, weird shit

    Still using a pixel 6

I'm sure there's some Google press release about it somewhere, but Google search is dogshit now, so I cannot find it

I only restart when mine gets security updates and i have to. Which the Android world is finally not being idiots about. The days of buying a new phone every year or two are gone, and barring some miraculous new tech they aren't coming back. I can't really think of a use case for why i would need a newer phone at this point aside from security and OS updates. I just checked and my phone is 3 years old and still works great. By the time it dies i will be and to buy a mid range phone with better specs that costs less.

Better cameras is my only reason these days, and even then i usually wait 3-4 years between phones.

I have to reboot every week or so because my phone will decide to stop making calls correctly. It's a weird thing that I can't find anyone else having the same problem with. I'm guessing it's because I spend so much of my time every day outside of cell range that the thing just eventually loses its mind until I reboot, but that's strictly a guess.

you should spend at least $1500 USD on a flagship phone every 12 months

    KVvo0INh.jpg

the new phone has a NEW slightly less rounded bezel, the refined design is a bold new rectangle, a braver reimagining of a classic form with fewer ways to plug things into it; perfection.

    cXEXESDh.jpg

ugh. the old phone. ugly, outdated, crude. It should not be recycled, it should be thrown in the river, like all garbage. you refuse to make friends with anyone using such lesser devices. only a fool would be seen using this now.

its cool to see the details. i thought it was widely understood that apple cables are in fact very well made

its not the buying of the cable that annoys me, its the fact that i have to buy a new cable every 4 years because they obviously like to fuck with us with all these weird formats that only they adopt

gold plated hdmis and shit like that are a grift but when it comes to cables in general you're definitely better off not buying the cheapest option, especially if it is designed to carry current

Brings back memories of Computing class in the early 2000s. The teacher would present via a projector from his laptop and used a USB mouse plugged in via a PS/2 converter to control slides as the trackpad didn't work. He would regularly turn around and look directly at the projection screen to point things out.

We'd take it in turns learning over to quickly unplug and plug the mouse back in as whatever version of Windows he was running would only detect a PS/2 device on boot. He'd turn back, go to advance the slide and the mouse wouldn't register any input. It was an ancient laptop even for the time so it would take about ten minutes to power cycle, load the login screen then pull his profile from the equally ancient AD server before bringing the powerpoint back up and finding where he left off.

The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin
