I have this circlet that raises the wearer's INT to 17. I'm not sure who to put it on, and more importantly I hate that it's 17 and not an even number. Why do that?
If it’s the item I’m thinking of, it’s supposed to be “damaged.” As to who gets it, off the top of my head, Gale or Astarion (assuming he’s Arcane Trickster).
I usually keep that headband on my people person Tav, a bard, since INT is his dump stat and it really helps with the random arcana/history/religion rolls that pop up outta nowhere in dialogue.
Otherwise it's just him charmingly bumbling through stuff without knowing what people are actually talking about

I feel like in addition to the thematics of it, it being damaged and only taking you to 17 prevents it from being a truly good item - it's something you only use for a half caster or whatever, because your caster already has those stats.
I gave it to Astarion for a bit, until he got something more sneak attack focused, and then it kind of bounced around my party if anyone wanted that little bonus to skills and saves for a bit until it made its eventual way into my stash.
If you wanna do some min max stuff those sort of items are a godsend with respeccing, just change your dump stat and push everything else up a bit.
Edit: I think also elf (and maybe other) racial innate cantrips run off intelligence, so it can be good for that.

It was 18int earlier in early access, but it was nerfed because it was being overused by the playerbase
Hm. So, Monk wis to defense doesn't work on wildshape. Or rather, it does, but only in the most annoying possible way - it only works *if* you're already unarmored when you initiate wildshape, and you can't remove your armor or shield while wildshaped because it doesn't actually exist or give any benefits while you're in that form.
I had hoped a level of Monk might help my druid's AC while shaped a little, because I love horning people as a big rothe but also AC 10 is pretty oof.
Also, currently in the Adamantite Forge
Man I'm happy I was told that the hammer could hit the big golem because I would not have thought of that. Now the question is what do I make for my second item - the first was the scale mail because fucking everyone in this party uses medium armor, and honestly I'm wondering if I want to have an adamantite sword for the utility (as everyone knows from the tabletop, "Adamantite weapon: the Barbarian's Lockpick") or get another scale mail because *dang* this is the best armor I've seen in the game and it's not even a little close, and as said, Karlach, Shadowheart, and myself all use mediums, while literally nobody in the party except Laezel, who will not leave the bench the entire game, is even proficient with heavies.

I did shield, it's one of the first ways to get shield bash (which rocks) and provides some differentiation from the armor. If you do them both on the same person I believe enemies will be reeling whether they hit or miss you.

Honestly I am generally playing simple and straight class, but I'm genuinely wondering if I should respec Shadowheart into starting with a level in Fighter or Pally just so someone in the team can use all this heavy armor and one handed martial weapons I find. In which case making her the heavy armor would be the obvious play.

You could just change her cleric subclass. Tempest, life, war all get martial and heavy
Ontop of just being real good in general

War clerics and Tempest clerics get martial weapons and heavy armor proficiencies if you want to keep her full cleric.
I think I might have horriby under utilised shadowheart because I kept her a trickery cleric for the whole game but between a certain act 1 mace nd her cool defensive gear she was still a major part of my party

I think Trickery still gets you some good stuff. Like, it's a shame that Seeming and Disguise Self are broken, but there's some other good stuff.

Playing as a Half Orc, I've already gotten a couple unique dialogue options that previously were persuade, intimidation or deception checks, that are now just I will fucking murder you. And it works, no check needed
Drow gets some really cool racial dialogue options, too. I've been very disappointed with how few I've gotten on my Dragonborn and (Gold) Dwarf playthroughs, though. Though I wasn't using my Tav as the party face on my Dragonborn, so maybe I missed more than I think.
Githyanki also get a lot of dialogue options, and not just when interacting with fellow gith. It's often a bit more aggressive than I envision my character, but other times it's very pragmatic. It's even occasionally cutely clueless lol

From what I can tell the lead is the one who does checks with a lot of npcs. Only major conversations auto swap to you.
And each companion can talk independently to a lot of npcs, down to getting their own share of free handouts. So you can get some things four times.
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
The "canon" dark urge is a dragonborn, they must have put something good there. Although what I've gotten so far with it has been pretty boring, I was expecting it to be more like how the barbarian can yell at all their problems.
Happiness is within reach!

I've seen a lot of minor githyanki options since Lae'zel is my MT.

Dark Urge unique dialogue options aren't delineated like CLASS and RACIAL options
Doing run 3 currently, Dark Urge, attempting to resist style. But I'm having fun making everyone just random classes whether they fit or not, Shadowheart as a Druid, Lae'zal as a Bard/Rogue, and Karlach the Sorcerer
Jesus, I feel like any choice I make could be a mistake. Is the Emperor lying to me? Is Raphael? Should I free Orpheus? Should I just press on and leave him imprisoned? Who the fuck knows!?!? However, I'm not save scumming and the choices I make I stick with, so for now I'm rejecting Raphael and sticking with the Emperor, but Lae'zel wants me to free Orpheus by raiding Raphael's crib and I'm like, cool, this way I can piss off fucking everybody lol. Hell, Orpheus will probably try to kick my ass too because of fucking course he will, nothing ever goes my way lol.
Don't tell me if I'm wrong or right about any of my speculation here, I'm just thinking out loud.

So Orin kiddnapped Gale. I guess the game still thinks he's my romance option.
Go ahead, cut him up. Bhaal's temple could use some renovation.

For me:
I’m trying to play my Dark Urge Sorcerer as an absolute paragon of goodness, albeit one who always defaults to using murder to solve her problems.
Therefore, as the Emperor is an evil, soulless, manipulative mindflayer, he must die. Raphael is an evil and manipulative demon, so he must die. If Orpheus is willing to work with me, great, he’s at least a being with a soul, and he doesn’t necessarily need to die. We’ll burn that bridge when we get there!
Thinking of moral choices, I’m trying to figure out what my second play through will be. I’m thinking of playing as Shadowheart or Karlach (respeccing her to Paladin) and romancing Lae’zel. But I’m also considering playing as a Dark Urge Ranger archer and doing Act I in a morally problematic way to recruit Minthara and romancing her. Act II would probably end up the same way though - I don’t think that I can bring myself to take the evil route there.

I know Astarion has some delightful lines after you raise him, depending on how he died. I wonder if he also has some Sass while he's dead
