I actually think the way SMT does endings is terrible, but that's also because alignments in SMT are silly. (I love SMT.)

1/5 Big news! Thank you to everyone who played the alpha version of Soccer Kids. We've released a few patches since then, and are very happy with how positive the reactions are. We're now focused on finishing the 1.4 update for Darkwood.

2/5 After we release it, we're going on hiatus for the forseeable future. We haven't been able to create a work environment that would not be destructive to our personal lives. Our families are our top priority and they should not be affected negatively by our work.

3/5 So ultimately we decided that it would be best if we part ways, with a possibility of returning in 5-10 years when we get our shit together. This doesn't have to be bad news! We aren't disappearing into thin air and would like our games to live on.

4/5 We have been talking to some amazing people who could make a sequel for Darkwood and continue working on Soccer Kids. So spread the word - if you're a developer / publisher who's interested in working on those IPs, hit us up!

5/5 In the meantime, please join us for beta testing of the next update for Darkwood, which should resume this month.

    can't say I blame em

This game to gamepass yesterday, and I'd almost say don't watch the trailer because the funniest part is the random *insert vague action hero with a bro title", gameplay is like a gun shooter version of like a lesser meatboy, but again I'm just here for the various "bro action guy"

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

you can turn your children into birds and then if you check the TV on Halloween the spirit of the child crawls out of it in the form of a doll and then if you dump that doll in the sea you have to fight the murdered souls of your children if you want to use the witch's hut??https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aK1qGw68Oys

i'm a couple hours in and so far it most feels just Fine and maybe a little boring

is 2 a big improvement? between a lack of meaningful upgrades and bland proc-gen levels it feels underwhelming, though the shooting and movement feel mostly serviceable

As someone bored of 1 I felt like 2 was a huge improvement. Once you do a zone twice you'll have seen most of the layouts, but the builds can be pretty fun and the weird weapons feel more weird this time. It also has one of my favorite environments in a game on a good while.

As someone who enjoyed 1, I didn't really like 2 as much, they obscure so much shit and like the part that solidfied me kind of being mad at the game, its actually better to not level up in 2 because when you do enemies level up with you. So like you'll upgrade your weapons and literally make the game harder on yourself.

It feels like a game designed for streamers.

I'd say it's an improvement. The archetype stuff makes things a lot more interesting, and the bosses are less add spam machines, which was my biggest problem with the first one. It still has some problems, like weapon variety imo, but on the whole I'm liking it more than 1.

They also level up with you in 1 but will also be a particular threshold for each world, it just did not tell you outright like 2.

If you are not enjoying 1, you probably won't enjoy 2. It does things better but it is a lot of the same bones.
