Theres a place in Sydney called Gumshara. They boil the pork bone broth for a week. Literally chuck pork bones in, nothing else, boil for 7 days in giant vats. Its thick and full of collagen. Its the most delicious Ramen in existence and there is no universe where a home cook is managing to replicate this.

I haven’t gotten to my favorite ramen place in forever thanks to covid and the distance to travel to it, but lately I’ve been upgrading instant tonkotsu with a mix of things:
- Homemade Ajitama (marinated eggs)
- Homemade Menma (marinated bamboo shoots)
- Microwave pork roast from hormel that’s actually decent; heat it up, shred it and while it’s not chashu it goes well in the instant ramen
I have become too spoiled lately as both ramen places and Korean restaurants have become more and more prevalent here with immigrant communities spreading out more from Toronto and Montreal
We have more than a few good ramen options now, Korean fried chicken and kdogs and bubble tea all over town, pho in every mall, and a particular Japanese Izakaya I am deeply relieved survived the pandemic because I haven't found a better one in Toronto or Montreal either - it's just too perfect
There's only one good ramen place in town and it's literally too small for me to fit comfortably in the seats because the place is always packed
I don't think I found a single one when I was living in Kansas City, but that was a few years ago
There's a food-truck that hangs round Westport and Downtown, and a couple out towards Overland Park, but nothing much in KC proper. Even the sushi-bar scene here is pretty dire anymore.

Also Elon you're like the guy who looks to your friends to hold you back from an ass whipping, though I'm pretty sure anyone who could stop you would not at all
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Speaking of Ramen, shortly after I started at my last job, I needed my 4 wisdom teeth pulled.
That sucked! My first day back at work they were still recommending mostly liquids, so for dinner I went to the on-campus dining and had what will always be the very best bowl of restaurant ramen I've ever had.
It was so good ramen in general became my go-to "I'm sick" food
I don't have any answer for that unfortunately. I think he's making a play on Zuck sounding like suck but it still doesn't make sense? Zuck my tongue? The only things I can think of that would work have perfectly cromulent emoji already

Now I'm sitting here hoping Hajime no Ippo does a special fight between Takamura and Musk/Elon. I don't care which.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
My totally unrealistic hope is that all the fucking chuds that Musk is trying to amplify with this circus will abandon their fascist garbage and instead fully sell out and just do bad shitposts forever.

I didn’t know anyone could be a big enough fucking dork to make Zuck almost look like the cool guy in comparison.
if this is how you folks make art it's fucking depressing
I think billionaire bloodsports could be pretty fun. I wouldn't pay to watch it, but if they really want to bleed for my entertainment I say we let 'em

another was "I dare you to name a good drink that doesn't have alcohol," which is sort of a sad one

Moving to a small town sucks. There is no actual Japanese places just stuff like Jimmy's Dragon Palace that is mostly what white people think Chinese food is but with ramen and pho in the noodle section and some sushi rolls. I want some Hokkaido butter miso ramen.

I lived in a fairly small town (25k) for a couple years but the school I worked at served a town of about a thousand plus several other even tinier towns in the area. That 1k town had a Chinese restaurant that was pretty awful and I really like Chinese-American food. The 3 Google reviews were all 5 stars and were basically, "it's not great but it's all we've got".

I don't think I've been to one that didn't have it.
But are tacos sandwiches?

Birria Ramen exists as a best of both worlds option.
Pour one put for Bob's Wasibi Kitchen
Just the most pathetic sack of crap
