Immortals of Aveum -- It has Gina Torres
I am kind of interested in this game. The hardware requirements are steep.
I went ahead and ordered it. I got the Deluxe edition on sale on EA shop for $62.
Here is the story.
An Unforeseen, Jak, is thrust into the Everwar – an endless struggle between Lucium and Rasharn over the control of magic. Jak and Lucium’s elite Immortals must race to uncover the mysteries of Aveum’s past, if there’s any hope of saving its future.

What do you think about it?
Here are the absurd hardware requirements:

Well yeah, it's Call of MagicDuty, it's gonna be a bit generic. But I'm definitely keeping my eyes on this, it could be a good time.

I can only assume they didn't even try to optimize the PC version
It is kind of nuts that this game has such steep hardware requirements.

They have said they got it to run on a i7 8700, which is the processor I have. I was going to use a 4070RTX that I just got.

I have already pre-loaded.
I probably can boost the textures to high.
The game is bitching about my CPU being too slow, but it runs fine.
The low settings are not really low. This is one of those games that is obnoxious with the graphics.
If you are running at 1080p, it looks good.
Have you updated your drivers?

Yes. It has this budgeting thing in the settings that acts like my CPU is crap.
From what I seen on YouTube, you can max out the settings and it runs fine. I will try it after work.
The game just gives the impression that your hardware cannot handle it, but it does. It is kind of obnoxious.

Ignore the whole budgeting thing in the settings.
Edit: Yeah. The game runs fine. I just maxed my settings. Silly game.

nice and quick movement and the spells feel different enough, though it is strange to have to reload my hands after a few shots.
runs well on my machine but given the specs it should.
Bravely Default / 3DS Friend Code = 3394-3571-1609
It’s got good music and fun set pieces too.
I feel like this could do with a 30fps quality mode on consoles. The default 60fps is smooth but the pixelisation and blur is pretty pronounced
Also they refer to the conflict they’re in as the Everwar. I feel like that would’ve been a better name for the game. Or Immortals: Everwar

Combat is decent enough, not exactly gripping but fun enough in a turn your brain off and go kind of way. Like it’s got all the right pillars and ideas. I think they could’ve done better if they sold this at a cheaper price point. It’s good but not good enough for this time of year surrounded by so much AAA competition
The more I play it’s definitely not magic call of duty. There’s a lot of fairly big levels with an emphasis on going back to them when you’ve gotten various traversal and door opening abilities to find chests and resources etc. it’s still linear but the levels aren’t really similar to call of duty levels, more like god of war style things (not in quality but in terms of going back and finding stuff and revisiting previous areas after you’ve gotten abilities to reach things or like remove obstacles and get equipment and resources)
the story gets really quite good, and the characters develop well and grow on you, criticising each other and complimenting each others flaws and strengths. This is a fantastic effort from a smaller studio and despite being rough around the edges it really shows a lot of passion and confidence. Lots of visually beautiful levels and some neat characters I didn’t expect
Levels are well designed too and decent fun to explore, and some great set pieces along the way
Hope they add a new game plus, I’ll come back and do hard mode if you can do new game plus in hard mode
My only criticism of the story is that
