If you do not watch either Stranger Things or Squid Game at least once per month, Netflix has been authorized to cut the power to your building.

After three seasons of withholding internet, they'll move on to something else and you'll probably get hald power for the third month.

Yep, DVD.com copy of Half Nelson. Doesn't look terrible!

I did the math and I’m roughly paying…$75 a month for streaming services and that nots including Prime.

    That’s way too much money.

I remember really liking Half Nelson, but I watched it when I was still developing my media palette. Wonder how I'd feel about it now.

I remember being surprised that Ryan Gosling could "actually" act, which is very funny in retrospect, as he's currently one of my favorite working actors.

The best thing to do these days is to unsubscribe from everything and then resub and cancel immediately whenever you wanna watch something

It’s a pain in the ass but at least then you’re only paying fifteen or twenty bucks here and there rather than every month recurring

A great way to lower your recurring monthly charges is to get your credit card info stolen and then you just ignore all the "update your payment" emails once you get issued a new card

I just read about this new police procedural show about a woman who works to push the police towards cases of kidnapped minorities, which sounds interesting enough for me, a crazy person with a horrible weakness for dumb police procedurals, to want to watch.

And then I found out that the show's actual big hook is that the main woman herself was kidnapped as a child, and now as an adult has kidnapped her previous kidnapper (who is played by Mark Paul Gosselar!) and keeps him captive and uses him like her own personal Hannibal.

And I don't know if that's the best or dumbest thing I've ever heard but now I gotta at least check it out.

The commercials for that show are incredible and convinced me that I do not need to watch it at all ever, but you should and tell us how it is!

i regret to inform you that found is just your standard ass procedural if the pilot is to be believed

I only keep a constant with Crunchyroll, since I have a perpetual backlog of things I want to watch. Literally every other service, I wait until stuff comes out that I like, re-up for a month(namely Criterion, Shudder, and Disney+), watch it, then bail.

It was surprisingly bland until the final like two minutes. Maybe if that gets more focus it'll be more interesting.

I watched the pilot tonight and yeah, it’s very straight and self serious. Some hinting at everyone’s crazy baggage, but mostly kind of boring. MPG only got to be slightly unhinged. The preview for the rest of the season seems like it maaaaay get a little bonkers, but I also kind of suspect it’ll just be big standard procedural stuff every episode with 2 minutes of development on the kidnapped kidnapper plot at the end of each episode so they can just tease that out for the whole season.

Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

I've only ever had two credit cards in my life. The first I got when I was sixteen with an insane predatory interest rate and then the good one I got when I was an adult with points and stuff.

Five years ago my gokd card got compromised so I went through the process of fixing all my subscriptions to the bad credit card, which I don't use for anything else.

Now it's real quick and easy to see how many subscriptions I have and to cancel.

I am in the business of saving lives.

I'm almost done with Foundation S2 - just finished episode 9. Now that I've fully accepted this not the book (in a twisted way, it's a fun play on psychohistory where the details technically don't matter)..... This may be the best thing I'm watching airing right now?

Like, they are COMMITING to this shit, and it's really well done, and the budget on the effects is top notch.

Also episode 9 may have the best insult I've ever heard. No spoilers

I have to say, Loki Season 2 started out strong, and also gave me serious Control vibes. I need to play that game again. Or have a sequel made at some point. Or both.

    1) Silence 2) Books must be returned by the last date shown 3) Do not interfere with the nature of causality

I'm ready for Loki to fall a bit apart again in the later episodes, but this episode was good? It also continues to b probably the best looking Marvel...anything, really. Starting with the fact that it has interesting lighting and popping colours.

I was mistaken about there being a new season of The Boys, it was actually that Gen V spinoff thing. We watched the first episode, and it was ok, but definitely lacking the juice of The Boys. None of the characters were immediately as interesting. Also not a big fan of the college setting.

Until the companies run your card through the "update card details" endpoint of their payment processor where if they've got a valid token for your previous card they can get the new card number / expiry date.

When I found that endpoint in the Digital River API whilst working on a payment processor I went and deleted every expired card from everywhere I had saved cards.

Visa's got an article on how it works.

That season and the one after it are rough.

I seem to recall that 11 was a big step back up? Or that one might have been a partial and 12 was the big one.

Anyway, the most recent couple seasons have actually been pretty good. Not as good as the peak of the show, but still worth watching.

There are a proportionally huge number of quotes from Archer's first two seasons that live in my head completely rent free and as far as I know that's when the show ended, every time I hear that they're making more I get disoriented.
