    I watched way too many horror movies as a kid and Freddie was always the scariest to me. As I got older, I learned to appreciate just how much he loves his job - a lot of unstoppable killers seem to kill because they have to, not because they want to.

    Freddie really does have it all.

    I'm not sure if I really have a slasher franchise that I have strong feelings about. Like if pressed I'd probably say Pinhead or Candyman, but that's less a franchise long fondness and mostly just on the original movie.

    At which point I feel should start looking at like, one off slasher flicks I'm particularly fond of. So like, the Night Owl from Stagefright maybe; or the Fox, the Lamb, and the Tiger from You're Next.

    I've also got Curse of Chucky on blu-ray.

    one of the things i am mad about losing in all my moves was all my research for the independent study i did on slasher movies in art school. watched about 300 flicks starting with thirteen women and, i want to believe i ended with my bloody valentine 3-D. hell of a project, and it made college pay for my four discs at a time netflix.

    might be a basic take but as far as one-off monsters go the It Follows thing was pretty damn effective on me

    Nightmare on Elm Street is the only one of the classic slasher series that I've actually seen all the way through. I've been meaning to do a complete watch of the Friday the 13th series (I've only seen the first one and Jason Takes Manhattan) sooner rather than later.

    My wife and I haven't locked down our Halloween plans for this month, except for one thing:

    We're definitely watching Tucker & Dale vs. Evil.

    Though decent odds we'll probably watch Trick R Treat at some point.
