I've never played a Forza game, but from context in the other strip linked above, it seems that Drivatars are some sort of persistent online representation of players, even while they're offline?

I mean kind of, they are in theory supposed to be kind of how your friends drive when you play single player. What it mostly means is you get to see Elki slalom into you to make damn sure you stay in fucking 4th place.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Yeah. In theory, your 'drivatar' learns from how you play/race and goes about building a behaviour model that imitates the player.

The implementations however, have differed over the course of the Forza franchise games.

I mean for me the wacky behavior of the drivatars is worth whatever mumbo bullshit that creates them. One thing I've always enjoyed about forza is most of the time outside of playing at the heighest difficulty drivatars don't just ride the lines damn near perfectly every race every time.

Reminds me of the Armored Core 4 A.I.s constantly boosting everywhere at the highest possible speed.
