First gameplay is to be revealed Saturday at 1am on Spike TV and 1:30am at Gametrailers.
all EST, so it is coming and I can't wait!
Still, cool concept, and if they can give it better graphics and give it meaningful teams with different play styles, it will probably be a good multiplayer sports game.
Edit: Also needs a mode to recreate the greatest moments in football.
Double edit: More players in lesser known positions, even if they may suck. There are like 5 centers, 4 kickers, and the same goes for guards and safeties and various other positions. How can a game work with such a paltry depth chart?
I disagree
a lot of people play football games because they like football
and if this is a superior product I won't think twice about buying it over madden.
I may have to get this for my brother (as well as a copy for myself), as he was a HUGE Leroy Butler fan until he had that neck injury.
Twitter
Indeed, as long as the actual game is better than madden in all ways, this should sell. Especially if they can manage to sell at a cheaper pricepoint than madden ($39.99 anyone?)
pffft, Bart Star all the way
Nighttrain fucking Lane.
Good thing there's a create-a-character thing.
Also, reach tackling sounds awesome. Madden: Pinball Diving 07 still doesn't even have gang tackling.
Al Del Greco.
You know it, I know it, and some crazy man in a Nike commercial knows it.

I believe there is NOT a franchise mode. I forget the reasoning, but I believe the developer said it wouldn't make sense or something like that.
But mostly this.
Edit: But, seriously, wtf is with that cover art? So ugly.
I think the cover is great
They're legends if you watch a TON of football though (IE more than just your home town team) even though they might not be good players, hell, they might be downright BAD, you remember them because of a notable moment, or because of their name, or something, there's so many relative "C" listers on this list that just make me smile, because they weren't superstars.
Guys that really "do it" for me
Those animations are INCREDIBLE!
Joe Montana.
JOE MOTHERFUCKIN' MONTANA!
He's more machine than man, and Cybo Joe will destry all opposition.
This game is so bought'd.
Yeah, but we're a minority.
Most of my friends fall into the "dur dur madden roks lolz" crowd.
Throughout the past 20 years, I've always wondered why people paid big bucks for professional sports licenses when they could just throw in a team editor and let the people do it themselves. Hardball was doing this decades ago, and with today's magical intertubes, fanatics could make real teams, players, and keep the rosters updated and offer the team saves online.
Just a thought.
Plus:
It's been to long since I went from Montana to Rice in a Sega game.
How about a Wii version? I can't wait to try out O.J.'s signature move with Wii controls.
You'd better use that wrist strap, because using the remote in a repeatedly downward stabbing motion is just asking for an accident.
have you ever played an nfl 2k game? they kick madden's ass. nfl 2k5 actually outsold madden the year it came out, but they did have the price point helping them.
i'm not sure if it can be done it legal ways. but can you download 360 save file off the net and put it on ur 360, legally as in no modification to the 360? cuz if so then people will just make current nfl rosters and you can just dl them.
i'm totally looking forward to this game.
BOUGHT'D.
Nighttrain Lane is one of the key reasons why there's a facemasking rule in the NFL. He wasn't very big, but that fucker could haul ass, and he wouldn't just form tackle, he'd lunge like a missle into people.
and seriously, if madden sells on player recognition alone, this game should blast it to hell. any real football fan will be all over this.
Not that it is a professional sport except in name, but Fire Pro Wrestling has been doing it for decades. You make the dude in everything but name, and then add in the option to tweak him. Worked fantastically.
