Oh hey guys I know let's do five more key changes and then after the quasi chorus well change the time signature every five seconds for three minutes.
Everybody solo.
They do it because it sounds good, they don't just do it for the fuck of it.
There's a point when crafting a song becomes less an artistic effort and more an exercise in theory/complexity/difficulty. If you listen closely enough in a Dream Theater song you can hear the metronome ticking faster and faster.
Also their singer sucks.
Hey now, their singer has a good voice.

God how can you fucks say Pink Floyd is a bad band
I mean I am not obsessed with them you know I listen to other stuff
and I understand you're trying to be all
nonconformist
or what have you, but jesus christ, they are an extremely fucking high quality band, and anyone who disagrees and has actually heard a decent amount of their music is retarded.
Man, the vocalist for Dream Theater has a horrible voice and their songs are boring, regardless of their technical prowress. You can do signature changes every 5 seconds, but if it's boring shit, then what's the point?

November is the 30 anniversery of Motorhead's self titled album. While not their finest album it was their first official album and the classic Motorhead to come can definatly be heard in this album. Plus it has their signature song "Motorhead".

Boring? Albums such as Images & Words and Awake are far from boring. Yes, the vocalist is far from great; however, the band has a good repertoire of songs out of their career which go far beyond just technical prowess.
This thread makes me want to go back and listen to Animals. Scratch that, it makes me want to listen to their entire disco up to that album. Feels like a good time for some PF.

I would like Floyd a lot more if all of their songs were 30% shorter. Most of their music is pretty cool but it drags out too long and can get boring.
I have researched them and they are really gay and catchy so I could see myself listening to them alot.
they're awesome
they're playing at the fillmore on south street June 29th
the night before my birthday
i think i will order a ticket right now
why don't they just put that in the fucking price
fuck this i'll just get them at the place or ticketmaster or somewhere
$23 for the ticket, $7 convenience fee, $4.90 order fee
i went to their concert a year or two ago
it was the best concert i've ever been to
granted the only other concert I've gone to was the free TMBG one a couple of years ago
but it was still awesome
Also, how did they make Lithium into a happy song?
What the hell?
I almost exclusively buy tickets at the place.
I know! I was like "man, polyphonic spree covering nirvana is like the definition of irony"
I should've bought tickets at the place when I was on South Street the other day
but I might be down there again soon so hopefully they don't sell out!
I am intrigued.
