I wish I still had a decent digital music collection
I need to go on Bandcamp and get Stone in flac so I have Baroness' whole discography in lossless digital. Oh wait I don't have first and second EPS either dang.

I had a real moment while ripping my CD collection.
I put on The Donnas and after the initial riff of 'Take it Off', my daughter Ripley (6F) had eyes the size of dinner plates and just asked 'Who is this?!'
So we listened to The Donnas all afternoon and I preordered their upcoming vinyl for her.
The Donnas rule and my copy of Spend The Night is a regular fixture on my turntable. Next, get your daughter into The Muffs, The Linda Lindas, and Bad Cop/Bad Cop.

Picked up a second place in trivia last night with a slim margin assisted by being the only person on my team who remembered/ever heard of Them Crooked Vultures.

Yeah, it’s stupid! Last I looked it was up around $200 on eBay. That record needs a reissue!

Spend the night is one of the ones I have both the tape {I think it was the last tape I bought} and the CD, Skintight I got as a bundle with gold metal
Edit I just looked up Marty Schwartz's YouTube tutorial on it and not only did it look impossible in the demo part but the video is 41 minutes long so... Probably not yet
My old band opened for them a few times! They’re awesome and bought us pizza and beer. Great music, too!
I met them at Warped Tour in Tinley Park, Illinois in...2001, maybe 2002? They absolutely ruled and I got their album signed. They did a song with that guy from Screeching Weasels.

Screaming Females just released their 2022 EP, Clover for the first time on streaming platforms and Bandcamp (it was previously a vinyl-only release available exclusively on tour). It's a really good record, and a nice cap to a great career if you weren't lucky enough to score a physical copy of it.
I need to practice my guitar more still but things keep interrupting me when I sit down and pick it up and then I'm too distracted
I'm going to get back into lessons if I can next month, maybe the teacher can give good advice onna better practice routine.
I've gotten okay at the intro to wish you were here though, except maybe the pretend on the b string. If only I could memorize the chords to the main part of the song of basically know the whole thing.

Moon Hooch opened when we saw Too Many Zooz. We also saw them accidentally when they opened for Beats Antique in North Carolina (it's how we found out about them in the first place). Fun band. Weird dudes.

Today kids on Musical Mentat Ambush, we have a Grammy winning session bassist primarily known for gospel w/ occasional forays into pop being asked to rub some funk on an Iron Maiden classic:
Anyone else here with an acoustic guitar what strings would you recommend
For a very long time I've used daddario coated phosphor bronze medium gauge strings (13s I thinks)
But one they are too hard to fret compared to my electric (I know this will always be the case with an acoustic but mediums aren't doing me any favors) so I'm thinking of moving to lights
And two the coating gets gummy as it oxidizes because I don't pick the acoustic up nearly as often as a result of issue one so I was thinking a different type or brand would do me good.
If it matters it's just a cheap rogue dreadnaught I got over a decade ago so it doesn't need anything super fancy I think. It's kinda a beater guitar, a little dry and musty honestly.
I tend to not use coated strings so D'addario phosphor bronze would be my pick just out of familiarity (I get good discounts from them and don't play acoustic) but if you want coated then Elixir is generally regarded as the best.
Any recommendations on gauge? Also cleaning them between playing which is something I neglect to do often.
On my electric I use Ernie Ball regular slinky gauges. The 9 gauge would be easier to fret there and sound a bit better probably but I find I struggle to find the treble strings by feel when they are under a ten gauge.
Maybe something like an 11 gauge phosphor bronze instead of my current 13s?
The only bad thing is changing strings on my acoustic fuckin sucks
I always always come close to losing a bridge peg in my couch because I always forget to have a bin or something nearby to store them in
But I'll probably go to guitar center later and grab a multi set of 11s for my acoustic and 10s for my electric (I need backups, I just changed those not long ago but don't remember where my backup set went)
I'm getting better at changing chords too still little by little. Even changing barre forms is getting easier.
Still need to sign back up for lessons and actually start practicing with a metronome and along with recordings though. I get so bored drilling the major scale that I don't do it enough and get rusty so I need stuff in my routine to shake it up a bit.
As expected from one of the most consistent bands around, it's real good. I was pretty up on the last record, and this sounds like promising things are coming for the new record.

Laura Jane Grace’s new record, Hole in My Head is out. It’s definitely her most consistent solo record, and it has some highs that rival the best stuff from the previous two records.
