The issue with the sheet music is when it's above out below the regular ledger lines, harder to let track of when they get up there for me and it's harder to remember the order.

Also a chord unless it's a modified one is just a root a third and a fifth right? So It should be... Like a root with another note stacked three up from the root then two up from that? You'd have to be able to read the key signature probably fit the accidentals?

They’re always stacked 3 up from each other if you’re talking about root position chords

    I did not know this!

See I typically only read tab and even that not super well

Furthermore, if it's not root position but it's still as closed voicing, there is a wider internal, a 4th, between two of the notes. The top note of that 4th is always the root. Most of reading sheet music is just recognizing patterns and recalling your scale and chord practice.

They put out a remaster of crack the skye that's dope! I can barely hear the difference though to be honest. It's maybe a little less crunchy and clearer but that might be because my old rips were lossy?

The Black Dahlia Murder released a new album the other week, their first release since the passing of vocalist Trevor Strnad. Brian Eschbach moved from guitar to vocals and former guitarist Ryan Knight (Deflorateb through Abysmal) returned.

I can't speak to the lyrics cause I haven't focused on them but that was one of Trevor's biggest strengths but Brian is a fantastic vocalist in his own right apparently. For better or worse, it's a BDM album. If you like their sound, they haven't changed a bit. If you don't, then they aren't gonna be pushing your boundaries or anything.

I actually just bought her new album off the bad of that, she turns out it’s not the best song at all.

As I said Larkin Poe was the new band I found at the music festival and figured I'd spread more of the word about them. It's fronted by some sisters one playing lead guitar and vocals and the other playing slide guitar and backup vocals. The drummer and bassist appear to be studio and touring guys as they change throughout the videos and are definitely different than when I saw them live. As you might guess from having a slide guitar they're style is bluesy rock.

Bluephoria which might be their best song live from the festival from somebody else's recording, I was probably as close, but to the right of the stage and there is quite a bit of wind coming off the ocean and the tail of hurricane Helene coming in to the festival

This is fun, interesting to hear how close to the Rev's original demo track it stayed, though Mike definitely put his stamp in places.

I finally have room to plug my gt-1 effects thing into my PC as a interface for my guitar

Plugged the seven string into it and on the "high gain stack" default profile it sounds super dope. So deep on the bottom string it's like a monster growling at you still but since the active pickups are there I can cut the sustain instantly with very little noise with just a little brush is my palm which is cool as heck.

Lmao I put it in drop A this morning hahahaha

Also I can kinda almost do rip and tear. Probably just need to practice it. But the tone will probably take some tinkering to get closer.

I missed the last day of Oceans Calling two weekends ago which had one of my top three bands playing in the Barenaked Ladies, which is fine, since I'm seeing them in two weeks in my town and is crossing off a second of my top five favorite bands live. And my gf bought us tickets to cross off the last of my top three favorite bands seeing Metallica next year. The other two in my top five are already dead in Warren Zevon and Leonard Cohen (which my gf almost got to see live, but he passed just before she was supposed to see him) so I can't cross them off, but when Jimmy Buffett died it was kind of an impetus for me to get out to concerts to see my favorite bands before they die, stop touring, or break up.

My girlfriend has been a big help, because the prices for tickets would have me balking at them, but she's big on spending on experiences so that's helped get me to these shows I would normally skip.

    1. Metallica
    2. Rise Against
    3. Barenaked Ladies
    4. Warren Zevon
    5. Leonard Cohen
    6. Ben Folds
    7. Weird Al
    8. Dropkick Murphy's
    9. Jimmy Buffett
    10. Mighty Mighty Bosstones

So of those I'm making good progress through the ones I can possibly see. Weird Al I will probably see next year as well. I know my gf wants to see Dropkick Murphy's on St Patrick's day so we'll work on getting that one crossed off so I'm hoping I should be able to see most of my top ten live although the Bosstones are a little iffy since the lead singer is anti-vax. I also would have Kanye in my top ten if he wasn't a shit person.

So this is a roundabout way of seeing how well everybody else is doing on seeing their favorite performers and if needed giving people a kick in the butt to get out and see their favorite artists while they can.

It just how occured to me to look at a major scale shape and try to find other triads inside it, now that I've found a few out sounds a little less generic playing through the major scale without sounding like... Just the major scale ascending or descending, or random nonsense.

Not a lot of chance of that happening, I don't think. Dicky's got a new band, and has gone hardcore anti-vax / pro-RFK and his former bandmates reportedly kind of hate his guts.

Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

Yeah, if they reformed it'd be without him.

His new band is him (singer), The Offspring's former drummer (who you may recall was kicked out for anti-vax), guitarist from Smash Mouth (left the band in 2008, but did stints with them), bassist from Street Dogs (don't know much about him, but he worked with Dropkick Murphys as a tour manager so this one's a bit surprising), and a guitarist from a band which toured with Dropkick Murphys, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, and Flogging Molly, which....man, I don't even know. Given they named themselves "The Defiant" and the first two people in that list, I assumed that this was basically the cast-offs from a bunch of other bands that didn't feel like dealing with their shit anymore.

In OTHER live music news, what was going to be my original anniversary gift fell through, so instead I got a VIP ticket to this:
    PITP%20SAN%20DIEGO%20Full.jpg

And of course my wife is happy because it means she gets to travel too. I'm a bit old for the festival scene (hence VIP at this point, so I can sit :V ) but Streetlight never comes near me anymore, so this might be my last reasonable opportunity to see them (yes, it'll be like my 6th time shut up), and I've never gotten to see the Offspring live, so I'm looking forward to it.

As somebody who just saw the Offspring live, they put on a great show.

I saw Sturgill Simpson in Bend last week and nearly drove up to The Gorge the next night to catch a repeat.

Call to Arms wandering off on a ten minute jam session and then screaming back into the finale has been sticking with me for days.

He ran a 90-minute set at the ACL Fest that is pretty much half his main show (3hrs) and it's avail to watch - could not recommend it enough.

That sucks, but I don't consider it as big of a hindrance as the replacement being a scientologist who wrote a letter of support for Danny Masterson.

It sucks to find out, because she's sounded good as the replacement from the clips I've heard, although the Chester parts were never my favorite part of Linkin Park songs anyway.

It all sounds very complicated. Someone broke it down on Reddit and it makes her out to be much less of a horrible person than thought

Again though. A lot of he said/she said going on

For the record: I have no skin in this game. I’m just researching to try and figure out the truth. I’m not saying she is guilty or innocent. Just posting information I found.
