From a quick google there's like interviews that go like " I called like 10 of the guys and they think I have a great idea", but of course it's better headlines if it sounds like hundreds of truckers will barricade all ingoing routes to New York.

Yeah, that is exactly what I am thinking - just the fact that there is reporting on it, means its getting blown out of proportion, when in reality its like 10 guys that just react in the moment. When it comes down to it, will do absolutely nothing, because it will fuck with their livelyhood real quick.

Yeah I can see why they sold out immediately. People flipping them for 10x.

As opposed to something more official like the White House gift shop though, I'd be fairly surprised if any of those shoe orders are ever actually honored.

Wouldn’t the RNCs issues with money also be greatly exacerbated by people donating directly to Trump, intentionally or as victims of fraud, by buying NFTs and sneakers/etc, and that the real campaign financing happens thru PACs anyway….which are all Trump funds

Basically Trump still has functionally infinite OPM (maybe not for much longer, but at the moment)…..but he’s a black hole so for example Long Island republican candidates have basically their own money, if any

Yes. That's a big part of what's been going on. Trump has been putting himself between the GOP and their small-dollar donors for years now, in muliple ways. And just pocketing all that money for himself. And also tiring them out and making them less likely to donate elsewhere.

Also making the medium and large dollar donors decide that it's just not a good use of their money. They want to use their money to puppet the government, they don't want to bankroll Trump and have fuck all to show for it. Probably also doesn't help that some of them have some extremely conflicting goals with Trump now. I'd wager most MIC is probably gone because Trump is very much pulling for assholes that want to diminish US influence.

And people said that Trump didn't do a single good thing for the nation.

He's hurt them, so that's one.

If he causes the full on collapse of the RNC, at the federal and in some significant states...Imma laff pretty hard, for a long time.

It'd be nice, but I'm skeptical since Republicans rely a lot less on institutions in general and fall back to homegrown local nutjobs screaming at nothing. And still have the entire Fox/Sinclair bullshit at the top beaming down their propaganda for the minions to take up and run with.

Trump misses Supreme Court deadline to fight civil immunity from Jan. 6 lawsuits
After missing a deadline to file at the U.S. Supreme Court, Donald Trump has formally left himself exposed to civil liability lawsuits from people who wish to hold him personally accountable for his role in the violent breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The agreed-upon Feb. 15 deadline for Trump to file a writ of certiorari at the high court came and went without a word from Trump’s defense team last week, though a spokesman for the former president said he would continue to fight for “presidential immunity” on all fronts, NBC reported.

I look forward to reading about how his legal council will be arguing that Trump's presidential immunity makes him immune from the deadline requiring him to file a writ in defense of his presidential immunity.

I'm betting they think if they succeed with criminal immunity then civil immunity will come along with it.

If there is any actual thought behind it, it's that they don't want it to be a landmark SCOTUS determination, since that makes it absolute compared to just an Appellate decision. Essentially making it relatively better for any future fascists than if they went through with it.

I doubt there was any thought behind it. My guess is Trump has such a ridiculous number of crimes pending prosecution that this filing simply slipped through the cracks.

Just remember that half the people you meet are below average intelligence.

He's probably more focused on trying to launder money from the RNC, PACs, and businesses to keep from bankruptcy.

Last I heard it was broken and sitting around for lack of repair funding - I can't find a resolution to this

Just as a reminder - Air Force One doesn't refer to the plane itself, it refers to the fact that the President is on it. Any Air Force vehicle that has the President aboard instantly becomes Air Force One and can stop being Air Force One mid-flight (which happened when Ford was sworn in while Nixon was in the air).

Similarly, any Marine Corps vehicle that has the President aboard becomes Marine One, and on the rare occasion when the President uses a commercial aircraft it becomes Executive One.

Teeeechnically, using the same convention, Trump Force One would refer to any vehicle Trump privately owns that he is currently aboard. Since Trump hasn't been on that plane since Biden was inaugurated, you could call it "Monument to One Monumental Loser" or really anything you like.

You're giving Trump way too much credit here.
Trump Force One is a nickname, coined to sound analogous to Air Force One, for The Trump Organization's Boeing 757 used by Donald Trump prior to and after his presidency. The name was in use during his presidential campaign of 2016.

Also the article says it was in use at least up to August 2023.

I figure he's dictating their approaches, which is probably part of why he's left with these dregs. It's not just issues with paying them, but any halfway competent lawyer can just quit on the grounds of not wanting a client who won't listen to them. So he ends up with the yes-men/women who hear him say he wants to go on the attack and just go along with it, however insane it is.

An attorney representing E. Jean Carroll has indicated the journalist could sue Donald Trump for a third time, as the former president continues to speak about her client publicly.

Speaking on MSNBC's Inside With Jen Psaki on Monday night, Shawn Crowley, an attorney for Carroll, responded to the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination telling supporters at a Michigan rally on Saturday that he had not done anything wrong to Carroll, whom he claimed he did not know, and that lawsuits against him were "unfair."
Asked whether comments Trump made could warrant a third lawsuit, Crowley said: "What he said was absolutely a lie. Two unanimous federal juries have found that not only did Trump know who E. Jean was, he sexually assaulted her and lied about it repeatedly. Everything he said about her over the last five years has been a lie and has been defamatory."

I mean... If he hasn't actually paid the fines yet then it stands to reason that the pain of the spanking likely hasn't reached his brain yet... or had him realize that he likely can't afford to have another round of fines pushing him up to a half bllion in legal debt.
