Edit: Just to expound on this, I haven't finished the Vince Netflix doc yet but I was getting angry during that second episode at how quickly the documentary just swept the ring boy stuff under the rug. Like, it's clear WWE still had some say over the final product and it was a Bill Simmons production which meant they were never going to actually take the company to task, but it was still an amazing bit of cowardice.
As many people have pointed out, it's very interesting that the guy seen as key to the company continuing (Pat) is the guy every WWE lifer has said is the only one innocent

Aside from Meltzer correcting the Mania attendance records, talking about Hogan union busting and the Janel Grant case there's nothing in the Netflix documentary WWE wouldn't publish themselves. Everything from the steroid scandal to the ringboy scandal is how WWE would frame it. "Oh we were innocent, it was just this one bad actor. Let's talk about how great it is that we beat Billionaire Ted." Even the episode about Owen's death had less details than the episode of Dark Side of the Ring that came out years ago which would have shown just how unprofessional and unsafe the stunt was and how JR was told "he's dead. We're back on in 3...2...."

It sure was rough seeing Chuckie T in the polo.
Edit; but not as rough as seeing another Jericho title run wtf are we doing?

There was speculation when this match was announced that perhaps RoH finally got a tv deal and much like when AEW stated they are using him as an anchor point

"'No more Chris Jericho please.' Well that's almost a sentence."
"Can I leave?"
"Of course, and don't worry there will be plenty of Chris Jericho for you. Nobody's going to take away your precious Chris Jericho."
"but the note was asking you to-"
"No, tell Sonjay Dutt I said you could have a free Learning Tree segment. He'll make everything all right, I promise."
Man, are there any happy stories in AEW right now? Heels hold all the belts, Danielson's gone, BCC is murdering people, Hangman's gone crazy, Swerve is probably getting set up to get beat down by MVP's stable, Jericho is winning, Ospreay's best friend betrayed him, Hook's dad got attacked and he got turned on while trying to get revenge...
I know eventually faces will rise up, but man, it's a lot of darkness all at once right now. I need a hope spot or two.
1) Silence 2) Books must be returned by the last date shown 3) Do not interfere with the nature of causality
I'm sort of burning out on the negative AEW stuff as well. It feels like every wrestler/faction is trying to be badass and dark simultaneously. The wrestling is still good - Ricochet vs AR Fox was awesome, and I'm always happy to see Private Party - but the storylines are bleak, and feel like we're in for more bloodbath matches than mimosa mayhams. I'm glad for folks that enjoy that, but think we need some balancing that isn't just fun videos by the Outrunners.

The date is correct but mystery wrestling is actually Sunday, which is annoying because I accidentally double booked myself and will miss the start of it I think.
Also, my complaint is less about the story and that the booking has gotten incredibly stale. They have been running a ton of squash matches or matches with just incredibly obvious outcomes between established wrestlers.
All of this seems to be building to making Orange step up and become a main event guy. I think my only issue is that the light side having people like the Dark Order on it just makes it look weak. I know people like TDO but they've not done anything for a long time and putting them against whatever the BCC is called now is comical. I could see it coming down to Orange, Darby, and maybe even Swerve convincing Hangman to come back to his senses to fight a greater evil.

So obviously there's a lot of positives to Zacky boy being the IWGP champ, but I think the biggest is that he'll finally be able to afford a phone with a data plan again now that he's getting the champion's share of the purse.
I had no idea Danielson worked AEW Dark as a luchador named Infinito (jump to 1:58:10).
Also, nunchuck wielding John Silver didn't get talked about enough.
I like to imagine that Infinito is old school lucha, never removing his mask, and that Ray Jazz guy has no idea that he wrestled against the possibly the greatest wrestler of all time.
Based on what reports from people who would know alot of the AEW staff also misses it. and it sounds like it was a necessary evil to lose to get the last TV deal so I bet with Rampage going away it comes back in some form.

Props to Gunther for pulling an A+ heel move and interrupting Cody's music right at the 'WOAH' crowd sing-along part. Instant heat, and allows for maximum heel smuggery.

Speedball/Vikingo is a match of the year candidate for sure and I liked Bound for Glory through the main event, Jordynne/Masha, which was definitely for sure the main event and I won't think about or acknowledge what came after as canon because it was all a nightmare I had. Yep.
Saw Collision live tonight. I had an excellent seat directly on-camera so if you knew what to look for you could've seen me making an ass out of myself, booing MxM and flipping off Rush. Nothing untoward or vulgar, just playing along with the show.
Unfortunately there was a complete prick in the front row with a sign disparaging Anna Jay who was constantly harassing the wrestlers, especially the women. I was hoping he'd get thrown out but I don't believe it came to pass. There was also a medical emergency in the stands above me during the first RoH squash match, so if you see a bunch of people looking away from the ring that's why.
I left before the main event of the RoH taping but it was
a Ring of Horror match with a bunch of Halloween props.
The Infantry also had a great match that was almost enough to wake the crowd up after three and a half hours of wrestling. I understand why they tape these shows after the live events but it really burns the crowd out.
There was a flyer taped up in the lobby with a QR code that linked to this video. I completely forgot about it until just now, but if you enjoy this sort of thing, here you go.

The script and delivery on that newsreel are epic. I especially liked the little throw away in the Japan segment: "...revealed an affair with Stan Hansen..."

I don't understand why tgey don't do RoH and Rampage before Dynamite/Collision, because those shows can't follow an actual main event.
Probably harder to get as full a crowd for ROH as the main shows.
Harley somehow is even more beautiful in face paint? Not sure how.
ANyone know why Erica Lee hasn't been with the Outrunners? I liked her manic energy.

Every good team needs a Krillin and/or Yamcha
Was watching this the other day, and I'd all but forgotten about how Raw and Smackdown used to have separate PPVs after the original brand split.
With the way they're running PLEs now with only five matches each, I wonder if returning to that idea would be a good idea at all?
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
There is so much wasted time on these shows.
