Ant was trash in that game. I repeat, he does not know how to play with other good players. Steph and Lebron were the only ones locked in at the beginning of the game, but Ant and KD were the last to. I was yelling at KD around the start of the 4th how he was still joggong around lackadaisical, but they kept him in because he can do what he did. Ant can't, and so just all-star gamed it.
Funnily enough, Steph and Lebron were the only ones who tried to make the last all star game competitive. Its like these old guys actually appreciate the fact that they get to play bball for a living and only have so much time.

i do like fiba's goaltending rules though. i hate the cylinder rules, they're inconsistently enforced and i'd rather just do away with it.
also possession arrow.
How much of this is FIBA goaltending means Embiid knocks Kawhi's shot off the rim and the 6ers win that round
lol none, he was on kawhi for that shot anyway. i just think the rules currently dont help the game. maybe it would be fine if all goaltending calls were done by hawkeye so it was always accurate, but as current it’s just too hard for human refs to officiate those calls. i mean sometimes it’s hard to tell from video if a call was correct even since it’s a 2d image of a 3d shape.
I also like the FIBA goaltending rules. It just adds extra value to size, athleticism, and awareness, plus makes for fewer stoppages.
Fiba in general is much better for making progressive rule changes. A lot of the incrementally better rule changes (take fouls, 14 second offensive rebound, etc.) Were implemented there first. I also might like their (lack of) defensive 3 rule better as well. It makes it harder for teams to run the Luka/Harden heliocentric pick and roll so much, which is one of the more repetitive offenses.
So i guess if i ever want to get my "no free throws ever, and-1" rule implemented, i should probably be talking to them.

I like Draymond is such an asshole that he made Klay Thompson want to leave the Warriors for nothing.
i'd be interested to see defensive 3 seconds gone because it's one of the most inconsistently called things in all of sports. and the modern nba punishes you from camping the paint by absolutely raining 3pt shots on you anyway.
Yeah, I much prefer a player skill and team strategy punishment for giant immobile bigs than a rules based one. I mean, shit, Rudy has been benched by the French in international play, presumably for the lack of spacing and mobility. We think the shooters and further lines in the NBA isnt enough of a counter?
Having a camping big does dissuade driving, which is one of the more fun parts of the game, but only if that driving player or team cant pass (again, looking at you Ant)

NBA uses the G-League to experiment. For example, the challenge system started there first.

It's become so rarely called that its kind of a joke. Jarrett Allen awkwardly celebrates whenever Cleveland gets called for 3-second violation, because he knows he does it 10x more than its called and he thinks its funny.

until a ref randomly gets a stick up their ass and calls it 3 times in a quarter and then never again.

If it wound up being a USA vs Canada gold medal game, I'd have loved if instead of an OT if needed, a tie game would be decided by Dray and Dillon Brooks in a dick punching contest.

This is why Tatum isn't playing, he's even worse at this than the team is now
But that's not what the narrative is going to be if they lose this game
Give him to embiid
C'mon now
you guys can pick up your complementary fan packages over there
welcome to the chef's table
As the game went on and he did better the French crowd stopped booing him every time he touched the ball.

At this point I want Kerr to bench Tatum forever just because it pisses off Celtics fans.
that would be amazing
especially if once he gets medaled he pulls out all of the kobe olympics celebrations
with how it's been going, he probably starts next game
