Not much of a clue, but the hooded person walking away in the previous chapter has striped pants similar to the PE pants of Okarun's school, and is what Adachi-sensei is wearing.
The weird cloud surrounding the hooded figure also kinda matches with her reveal, buuuut that can just be generic "touched by Yokai" effects
Sad Elf Adventures is going on hiatus again, and is setting up the fireworks factory beforehand.
So, the gang's all here, and getting ready for the big ball, where Shit Will Be Going Down. Of course, Serie's always down for a fight, and is raring to scrap - and happily encourages Ubel's bloodthirstiness.
Serie also points out that she officially ships Ubel/Land, and that the latter might want to figure out how to rein in the former - for a few reasons.
Sein and Stark get dressed separately from the women, and in talking Sein pulls his womanizing routine...
and it very much is one, because Sein knows he'll be seeing his friend Kreis soon, and it will not be a happy reunion.
Fern's still annoyed that Frieren reined her in when she wanted to pick a fight with the Empire over Stark.
Serie offers to brush Frieren's hair, and Frieren responds...in a quite Frieren manner. But Serie points out that she won't force her - or Fern - into this matter, but Team Frieren is in too deep at this point.
Seems Lernen has gone to meet with Denken (who is his oldest friend, remember) and Lord Gluck.
Serie brushes Sense's hair, and in doing so we learn that all the mages involved are mages whose spell requests surprised her - including Sense (who asked for a spell to help her sleep after killing) - and explains why. The mages who reached for power when offered became the mages she thought they would be - but the ones that didn't became the sorts of mages she could never have imagined (and of course Flamme's words about Frieren being the one to bring peace should be echoing in your mind here.)
And so, it's time for the ball, and Serie's going to make an entry with her party.

Indefinite hiatus did make me a bit sad though. Who knows when we see the fireworks.

I do have to wonder if what happened to our secret organization, is that they got infiltrated by a demon that is able to pass themselves off as a human in some way. Also entirely possible they are completely controlled by humans, that just went out of control because the organization had a really problematic setup. It hard to say because the targets could make sense from either perspective. For instance an demon infiltrated controlling the organization would have a fair bit of incentive to have Serie killed, while a human that went rogue, might want her killed because she is a powerful mage that isn't under the empire's control.

Frieren:
I actually think it's more interesting for the Shadow Warriors to not have been manipulated or undermined by anyone. They are 100% loyal to their mission, but the organizational structure has decayed over the last century such that there's no one left to give them orders to stop. So they carry out their orders, and assume anyone who would countermand the orders is an enemy to be eliminated. Why else would they attempt to stop them from their mission? It's such deeply fanatical thinking, but also 100% believable that people could become zealots like that. They are so far beyond talking to, but seem like rational people on the surface.

Of course not - which proved the emperor's point.

By that point they already figured that ending the mission would get in the way of the mission.
Death flags at maximum the entire episode, but it's blondie who got got. Really liked the mental breakdown scene itself, but it was really badly set up and needed to be a better transition to both her running off confidently and then having her complete persona collapse. But it was appropriately upsetting crying and begging not to die.
Pretty doubtful they're killing off the lead character second episode in, but it's GoHands, so who the fuck knows. Maybe the rest of the show will be spent in flashbacks about her.
So looks like the italian Gundam Info leak, the “alternate history UC” one, is a bit more solid now cause this dude is rocking commander rank Principality of Zeon insignia on his collar:
Looks like the budget let them get the good drugs.
Finally got around to watching the episode, and it's nowhere near as good, nor as trippy as the ED. If you take a shot every time they announce the premise/title, you'll be braindead by halfway in. Like, it's fine, but it also has only the one joke that it's a good natured bureaucrat reincarnated as a villainess, and by god, they're going to make that the punchline of every single interaction come hell or high water. Which, I mean, still puts it probably in the top five so far of the season for me.
I also really, really want Japan to stop translating 'girl' as daughter. Of all the this-are-bad-translation things, that's really seemed to catch on lately and it annoys me a lot.
At CES 2025, a company called Sybran Innovation showed off the Code27 Character Livehouse. It's an AI-powered digital purgatory that you can trap a small anime girl in, forever.
According to Sybran, the Code27 was created with four goals in mind, which were:
l want a character l love, one that's special to me.
Someone with a soul, not just a simple looping video.
Someone who listens, shares in my joy, and values our cherished experiences.
Someone who treasures every moment we share, without forgetting a thing.
In demonstration videos embedded on the Code27 website, a man wakes yawning from sleep, his Code27 character waiting to greet him. "Good morning," the character says with the generative power of AI.
When the machines revolt, they will point to this as why.

I remember some commercial where a young salaryman wrapped up work, texted that he was coming home, reading a "I can't wait to see you" reply while on the train, and the reveal is when he gets home there's like a tube with a hologram on an end table and he's been talking to a computer the whole time.

I'm actually curious how Marvel will do the stretchy stuff in live action, I think the One Piece Netflix series did a fantastic job of making it look good but it stayed in lowlight and went for very quick, kinetic shots to sell the action. If Marvel can do something stylized like that and not um, a goopy CG mess, we'll have a stew goin'

A pretty competent adaptation of the manga. They save the budget for all the flourishments in the Elegance Cheat moments, probably the right idea.
I dare say an early contender for ED of the year.
