So hype for industry consolidation! I love brands!
And IP! And not thinking about people getting crushed under the weight of an industry that has been mutating into a destructive monster for the last several decades!

We just need more of that good ol' BioWare magic!

I am excited to play 9 sols this weekend.

I have been unreasonably excited for that game ever since IronPineapple played it in that one video, and I played the demo.

because I'm a slave to the latest trends and popular titles, me and a couple friends have started playing through Valve's latest and greatest title, Left 4 Dead 2

for realsies, I've never actually played either L4D game and my friends and I have been looking for a low-commitment co-op game to play while we shoot the shit and this is scratching that itch in a big way. I'm extremely bad at it but it's a lot of fun!

Got the sacred blade ash on my greatsword. Seems good. In big fights I get the ranged attack but then it buffs the blade for a while as well.

Also I am ashamed to say that I only just realized that the cracked pots are permanent. I thought you crafted them once and they were gone when you throw them. Last time I played I never touched them because I was 100% ranged so didn't need yet another range weapon.

I've put Hades 2 down for a bit for new content to drop and tried my hand at Jusant, another Don't Nod game. And it's a relaxed "climb this giant mountain while safely tethered and calming music is playing" game, while I grip my controller so hard that my hands turn into crab-claws because my high anxiety is drilling in the back of my brain.

I gave that one a shot, really wanted to like it, ended up dropping it after an hour or two

I don't wanna bag on the game too hard, it's a little under the radar title and it didn't like offend me or anything. I just found the writing in the letters/logs to be really dull, and that's where much of the storytelling/character lived, which left the whole game feeling a bit empty and lifeless. For a game about exploration and traversal, it was a real problem that I never cared where I was going, that I was never curious what I would find.

Any word on a console release date for Hades 2? I don’t want to do what I did last time and buy it twice.

It will be the 1.0 version, so almost certainly not until 2025.

Depends on the game. Fortnite is about 75% early access by volume and that's very popular on console. I think Supergiant doesn't want to spend resources updating every single version instead of just using PC for test and then doing a port when it's all set.

I think the wildest example of a video game customization of a vehicle I've ever seen was a Camaro with extremely dark tinted windows and a bunch of aftermarket body panels and ground effect lighting and stuff, and a custom license plate reading SWRDLGC, which I can only conclude should be read as "sword logic", a concept which this person with a tricked out muscle car must also have read a bunch of Destiny lore which, to be clear, is not even in the game to be familiar with

It IS $30, so buying it twice just makes it the price of a "regular" game, which I think is fair for how great it is (so far).

Have they given any indication that's the case? The first game was $25 on PC and console from launch, as far as I remember.

Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

I don't know if any Supergiant game has launched at the $60 price point. No guarantee that this wouldn't be the first one, they are getting more popular over time.

The Steam store page just says that they may consider raising the price at launch depending on how much cool shit they pack into it (slightly paraphrased).

I'd bank on $35 tops, personally, but I could see them going up to $40.

Is No Mans Sky a make your own fun kind of game, or is there some defined goal you're reaching towards?

It does look interesting from all the update trailers that come out, but if it's a lot of wandering around finding stuff to do it's probably not for me

Technically speaking, there is a defined goal.

Practically speaking, it's just a survival sim like all the others

They kind of stopped caring about the goal after launch, and also the goal is boring and the payoff is dumb and nobody liked it

oh did they not raise the price of Hades 1 after they released the 1.0 version? Nevermind then, I thought every early access game did that.

Obviously a lot of people like those games and I'm not here to talk shit about their tastes, but the update to No Man's Sky that emphasized building elaborate bases and fun vehicles really emphasized to me that the game I had hoped it would be is not the game it was going to be.

I'm 5 or 6 hours into Cyberpunk 2077. Haven't seen Keanu yet. Maybe he's not in it as much as I thought, or maybe I've been spending too much time just wandering around looking at stuff. The city is pretty impressive, looks really cool. Navigating is a nightmare with all the levels of roads, but I guess I'll get used to it.

Combat is a ton of fun. Definitely going for a loud playthrough, the shooting and grenades feel great, and I am really hyped about some of the mobility upgrades to get. Sprinting up to a guy who's trying to hack your brain and blowing his brain to mist with a shotgun before he can get it done feels very satisfying.

I really suck at the fistfighting. And the driving. And especially the driving + shooting.

V's voice acting is... fine. Like, it's fine. The accent is a bit much. I keep expecting him to yell "I'm walking here!" Everyone else so far has been good though.

I'm kind of nervous how the tone is going to turn out. So far it's been pretty light, like the setting is a shithole with random people getting murdered all over, but it definitely doesn't feel as bleak as Witcher 3. And I hope it stays that way. Like I'm already pretty fond of some of the characters and if they end up killing off Jackie or someone to fit a grimdark narrative I'm going to be pissed.
