I feel like the impossible utopia has to have a law (that cannot be bought, somehow) that stops companies from getting beyond a certain size, like they have to split at some point. It seems like the only solution, otherwise you get stuff like Google putting a ‘must be good’ clause in the original write up to years later removing that. Like they didn’t even keep it in as a lie, they felt they had to get rid of the concept of being good from their documentation. Wild.

I'm pretty sure those are called 'antitrust laws'.

And laws cannot be bought. Unfortunately, those who craft and uphold the laws can be. Quite easily, it turns out.

Sadly @WotanAnubis the laws themselves can be bought. Many laws have come into force due to money changing hands, Disney extending copyright laws springs to mind. It’s not just corrupt interpretation of laws, the laws themselves are put in place by the rich.

I would argue many countries including my own create laws with a rich get richer, poor get poorer mindset. Basically any crime that punishes with a fine is for the rich and against the poor. You could even argue that the modern privatisation of lawyers, just, as a concept at all, is for the rich and against the poor. The law is not for you.
