Any comments that may be interpreted as supportive of political violence with murderous intent will not be tolerated.

Any comments that express approval of the shooter or the shooter's cause will not be tolerated.

Any comments that express disappointment in the shooter's failure to succeed in their attempt will not be tolerated. Any comments that imply a wish that the shooter had succeeded will not be tolerated.

Any comments that suggest the shooting was justified will not be tolerated.

Any comments that normalize extreme or violent actions as a means of achieving political or social goals will not be tolerated.

Any comments that spread false information or conspiracy theories about the incident or the individuals involved will not be tolerated.

Any comments that disrespect, mock, or trivialize the experiences of the victims, their families, or others affected by the incident will not be tolerated.

Comments should aim to foster respectful and constructive dialogue. Personal attacks, ad hominem arguments, and inflammatory rhetoric are not permitted.

For the immediate future, I expect these forums to reflect an environment in which the political temperature is turned down. Overly passionate political commentary should be avoided and if that does not occur then all political discourse will become forbidden.

Flagrant posts in violation of these rules will result in an instant ban, no points or warnings will be given.

I will be reviewing posts made in the last 3 hours and I may delete comments that I feel are inconsistent with the above rules of discourse. There will not be punishment for these past comments unless they are obnoxious or disgusting.

• On the topic of the assassination attempt, I ask that you continue to tread lightly - especially avoiding any combative, inflammatory, controversial, or provocative statements. Avoiding the topic altogether is all the better.
  
• On political topics that may loosely intersect with the assassination attempt, I would like to clarify that political satire is acceptable so long as it is not inflammatory/controversial/provocative, and used in moderation. Forum moderators are empowered to decide what is inflammatory. I reserve the right to overrule a moderator decision. If political satire is being weaponized into a way to troll or score points repeatedly in forum rivalries, that will certainly rise to the level of being punishable.
  
• On political discourse in general, moderated discussions have been proceeding reasonably well. Please pay strict attention to the discussion guidelines that are being set by the moderators. Political discussions are subject to increased scrutiny and your choice to participate in those topics may put you at increased risk of points/infractions.
