there were multiple bosses in original wow that required guilds to communicate with one another to ensure they didn't do the fight at the same time because the servers couldn't handle two bosses pulled at once in different instances
the hardest part of thaddeus was that the servers absolutely couldn't handle the encounter.
when my vanilla guild killed thaddeus we had to do attempts at 4am because otherwise the lag would cause random deaths even from people in the right locations.
I'm sad the antifandom service for rehosting information on fandom wiki pages without fandom's crap all over it seems to be crumbling now I have to actually look at fandom wiki pages again for information on like, warframe bullshit
Have you tried the list of mirrors? antifandom.com gives me an error when searching, but breezewiki.com (listed as being the official site) works fine.
ah this seems to work a lot better, it's just annoying because it's much easier to add "anti" into the URL of a fandom page

You can also throw a bunch of the fandom crap into your adblocker if you run that. Not sure what it looks like for any other extensions, but for uBlock Origin these rules work to clean it up real good for me

Hit credits in Steamworld Heist 2. I'd have to double check but I think I hit 100% completion (as in getting max stars in all regions and unlocking every bonus stat gear, this is on Switch so no achievements) which is something I never do.
I do wish there was an undo button (you can return to a checkpoint two turns ago but that's obviously a significant time waste) that functioned like Into The Breach so non-attack errors could be undone and I never figured out if I could examine enemies to learn their traits. Also please re-equip hats that fall off my characters, that was annoying. But this game was fantastic in spite of those complaints.
I disliked the submarine sections at first, but each upgrade helped and by the end I was armed to the teeth with lasers and realised how hard I would play a Vampire Survivors but with a starship. I also thought I wouldn't like the class switching since I liked the predefined roles for 1's cast, but the bonkers builds for each character really made them feel like an elite team that was the best at what they do, and what they do is take 6 actions in one turn, snipe with perfect accuracy every time, or let enemies crash upon them and be broken.
And I'm definitely getting the soundtrack, but I've already sung praises of it here already.
Yeah they have a Warcraft action game, named world of warcraft. And while it might not feel like what you mean by action, watching players completely fail to move out of the way of attacks and eat shit will paint a picture of the average gamer's capabilties.
Raids in World of Warcraft illustrates an important concept in a funny way: even a very low individual failure rate can, with enough repetitions, result in a very high failure rate.
The example I love is Thaddeus, which has one (1) main mechanic: every 15 seconds (or whatever I forget the timing) everyone is told to go to either the left side or right side, and if anyone fucks it up everybody dies. 40 people had to do this, flawlessly, for what like three minutes? while also doing their normal game-playing stuff of damaging and healing and tanking. That's it.
This was an encounter in the most difficult raid in vanilla wow.
Even if you only fuck it up one in a THOUSAND times, if it has to be done five hundred times to succeed, you'll still be collectively failing 40% of the time.
One guy fucking up Thaddeus for six weeks in a row is the primary reason I never got 25-man Immortal in my guild of the time. Blizzard to this day says I don't deserve the black proto drake because of it.
It's one of the few times I wished WoW players actually acted like WoW players and did what needed to be done to get it done, just for one goddamn week.

Could earning the drake not be solo'd later on? I thought I solo'd most of the 10-man version's requirements at some point. I tried to check to verify if I had it, but apparently I've been inactive so long that none of my characters show up in the WoW Armory anymore. I tried pulling up my old guild, and most of my characters are still listed on it's roster (though oddly not my main, so I guess that specific one got kicked?) but if you click on any of them you just get a 404.
they removed the black protodrake achievement from the game with the next major patch, it was their idea to create FOMO around getting the achievement and forcing you to do it when it was not overgeared, but it was a bullshit luck-based achievement and everyone hated it and they never did it quite like that again (though there are still FOMO-style seasonal achievement rewards), but stuck to their stupid guns about not ever making it available any other way again
Oh you’re right, I’d forgotten that the rewards were for each tier instead of over the whole expansion like FF14 does with their special mounts.
I was probably thinking of the Ulduar or ICC drake, not Naxxramas. Of course, if Blizzard hadn’t removed my digital monument of all my shame from the Armory, then I would have been able to check and figure it out myself. And all because I haven’t played since whenever Warlords of Draenor was current.
man that reminds me of something way back. I actually got the plauged protodrake, and was helping some people with their last achievement to get it(the undying). We were on the last wing, sitting at the door to loetheb and I accidentally auto attacked loetheb before everyone was inside, causing a wipe.
They could have kicked me from the guild right then and there and I would have been like "yeah, that's fair"
The Metaphor demo worked better when I put my gaming laptop into performance mode. The desert at the beginning was chugging a bit.
I forgot that I had it in balanced mode when I was trying to adjust the fans.
Ryujinx, a Nintendo Switch emulator, has ceased development. The lead developer was pressured by Nintendo of America into shutting down the project.
All downloads and the GitHub repositories have been removed.
Let's be real here, if you're emulating a current console (and for Nintendo, the Switch is STILL the current console) you always ran the risk of the company who's hardware you're emulating from coming after you.
The vast majority of people are using this software to pirate games. I'm surprised that Nintendo let it run this long. They fucking love lawyering up.
It sucks for the people who actually own the games and just want to run it on better hardware though.

It also sucks because emulation is legal and this is a corporation flexing their legal muscle against individuals who can't afford to fight them?
I'm not really sure why so often the reaction to something shitty happening is "sure, getting mugged sucks, but the mugger had a gun and wanted money, so really, it's understandable why they did it". It's worded as an explanation (as if we don't know why they did it), but comes across as an excuse.
Once consoles became PCs and games became digital instead of consoles being boxes full of chips and circuits and games carts that complete the circuit it became harder for emulators to not infringe on copyright in some way or another. I don't know how many--if any-- modern console emulator authors are following full isolation reverse engineering protocols to prevent issues versus those who just copy images and code from the console's OS and call it a day.

The Ryujinx devs are Brazilian.
There was no legal threat, Nintendo aren't even registered IN Brazil to do anything. Nintendo Brazil is headquartered in the US.
The Ryujinx devs clearly got paid off, and good for them.
Karl's conspiracy time.
The Switch 2 is close enough to the Switch, architecture wise, that any Switch emulator will not need that much work to start running switch 2 games. The switch 2 is going to be backwards compatible with Switch games as well
And that's why Nintendo is clearing house. They want switch emulation development stalled because it by extension delays switch 2 emulation.
Yes emulation is legal, but you're all being wildly naïve about the majority of the users of said emulators. Shit is getting pirated left right and centre. Nintendo is famous about protecting their bottom line with an army of lawyers. The reason why they're so insulated from the console war bullshit because of the fort knox walled garden they built. You ain't easily playing Zelda anywhere else.
Screenshots of Echos of Wisdom being played on Ryujinx before it was officially released, would have firmly put the Ryujinx dev's in Nintendo's crosshairs.
If I sound resigned to Nintendo being shitty, it's because I am.
We (as in gamers) keep giving them money. Despite their anti consumer practices.
Yes yes I know, no ethical consumption under capitalism. BUT you can make some ethical choices.
And if anyone asks, i own every game I play on my miyoo mini +
Hmm, according to The Verge the whole Brazil thing might just be a rumour. And unlike with Yuzu, Nintendo didn't DMCA their GitHub nor go after their Discord, so there's no indication that they actually had a case re: infringement.
Guessing they dug up the developer's IRL details, then put pressure on them directly.
At the time, Sweeney said Epic had been spending “way more money than we earn, investing in the next evolution of Epic and growing Fortnite as a metaverse-inspired ecosystem for creators.”
If you're running in the red and your revenue stream is literally Fortnite, you are bad at numbers and business.
Honestly, you're better off being a programmer in a regular office, and making solo indie games in your spare time if that's your inclination. Big budget development is a shitshow and indie releases are a dice roll as to whether they'll hit or not.

Goddamnit Brolo. A thumbnail showing a large pig man in a white wifebeater should have a trigger warning.
beyond good and evil 2 is the only title remaining that can challenge star citizen's vaporware crown
Star Citizen is real and will prove the haters wrong Brolo, they just need you to open up another line of credit to push development of their roadmap over the finish line by Q3 2027.
