Buzz has been endorsing republicans since at least 2004. Being the person who did a cool thing doesn't make him a good person.

Well the GOP finally has proof of election interference. This guy knew for a fact that the count was wrong due to missing ballots... because he was caught on camera stuffing them into his shirt.

He's also a climate change skeptic. He strikes me as the same type as my brother's in-laws: a career military man who votes straight ticket R because It's What You Do.

Interesting. Joe Rogan has revealed that the reason Kamala wasn’t on his podcast is that they only offered him one hour and at a time that fit the campaign’s schedule and he had to travel to them, but Rogan would only do it if she came to his studio in Austin.

Top two stories on CNN are now about Biden, because the media is the media. Same on NBC News. Why would the left hate them?

Specifics: He did it during a live stream with audio. He claims he was given permission to take the ballots, and was referred to the video that he had not. He insisted it was okay because the ballots were marked sample. They were not. He *was* seen and heard on stream verifying the ballots were real.

    Garbage. Him, specifically.

Isn't his studio in Austin some weird-ass bunker situation? Because of course the first thing any rich person does is assume all the poors are going to break in and eat them given the chance.

Journalist Adrian Carrasquillo reports that Puerto Rico star, Nicky Jam, that had endorsed Trump, also told Trump to fuck off:
NEWS: In Instagram video @NickyJamPR RENOUNCES his support for Trump after rally comment about Puerto Rico being a floating island of garbage.

Says he supported him because he thought he was better for the economy but never thought something like this would happen weeks later.

Also, as mentioned above, this happened:
    https://apnews.com/article/supreme-court-virginia-voter-registration-purge-ba3d785d9d2d169d9c02207a42893757
The Supreme Court’s conservative majority on Wednesday allowed Virginia to resume its purge of voter registrations that the state says is aimed at stopping people who are not U.S. citizens from voting.

The high court, over the dissents of the three liberal justices, granted an emergency appeal from Virginia’s Republican administration led by Gov. Glenn Youngkin. The court provided no rationale for its action, which is typical in emergency appeals.

Election is in 6 days, SCOTUS says to purge away with zero explanation. Not that we need one since it's obvious what is going on.

NPR already reported yesterday on how this has provably been purging US citizens from the rolls:
    https://www.npr.org/2024/10/29/nx-s1-5169204/virginia-noncitizen-voter-purge

Texas has started purging citizens as well, without notifying them and while refusing to reinstate them (unless a prominent media organization goes to bat):
    https://www.texastribune.org/2024/10/29/texas-noncitizen-voter-roll-removal-mary-howard-elley/
Mary Howard-Elley fervently believes illegal immigration in the U.S. is a critical problem that only former President Donald Trump can solve. She says the continuation of his border wall and promised mass deportations will make the country safer.

She agrees with Trump’s unfounded claims that Democrats are opening the borders to allow noncitizens to vote, fearing that it could ultimately cost him the election.

Howard-Elley didn’t pay much attention when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott helped fuel that narrative by announcing that the state had removed thousands of supposed noncitizens from its rolls, claiming some had a history of voting.

Then the U.S. citizen learned she was among them.
bonus TLDR: she had to jump through a bunch of hoops, getting denied at every turn, finally got reinstated after the Tribune poked around, and says after all that Trumpy big-lie fueled shit she had to go through...
she will be voting for him again.
    It's even better than that.
    https://www.propublica.org/article/texas-noncitizen-voter-roll-removal-mary-howard-elley
The elections office in Montgomery County, just north of Houston, had sent Howard-Elley a letter in late January saying that she had been flagged after she indicated that she was not a U.S. citizen in response to a jury summons. She had 30 days to provide the county proof of citizenship or she would be removed from the voter rolls, according to the letter.

Don't get me wrong, State College if fairly blue, but I can promise you it would have been a 60/40 split at best. Going to a game these days is pricey and it's not the young left leaning folks who can afford to do it.

Biden isn't running. Should be the end of the conversation.

I also feel like the rally ended up with the wrong focus. Everyone's about the comedian telling shitty jokes...not the former and current elected officials, media personalities, business reps, etc who were putting out absolutely horrendous shit while on stage and completely serious.

The jokes sucked and it was the wrong setting even if they were good examples of that style of comedy, but I care way less about the comedian than I do all the others.

Part of me wonders if we'll still see a Harris interview happen for Rogan's podcast. I hate the idea of legitimizing him, but I'll concede there are a number of male voters that align with the democratic party, who watch his show and are currently on the fence about voting for Harris. So it might be worth the gamble and further shutdown some bullshit talking points.

Dude might even be up for it, if a significant chunk of his audience is sufficiently pissed at all of Trump racism at MSG.

During a get out the vote call Monday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. disclosed that “President Trump has promised me control of the public health agencies,” including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Kennedy also said Trump plans to put him in charge of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Trump has more of less confirmed this publicly. During his don’t-call-it-a-Nazi rally last Sunday at Madison Square Garden, Trump declared he would let RFK Jr. “go wild on health. I’m going to let him go wild on the food. I’m going to let him go wild on medicines.”

    I want off this ride.

Yeah honestly I even view attending his podcast as a sort of harm reduction. Right now the media narrative is that Trump took the time to attend the podcast and he has the reach into the demographic where Democrats have been struggling to make inroads on. At the very least it'd forestall a narrative that Kamala can't handle it, or thinks Rogan is beneath her etc.

Then again, I dunno if anyone in Rogan's viewership would even be swayed by Kamala's appearance so that's tough to guess either way.

I've seen it suggested in some parts that it might be an idea to send Walz to Rogan's show, instead of Kamala. He's got the whole Positive Masculinity thing down pat, practically exuding Good Dad vibes. It might strike a chord with some in that audience? I dunno.

Learning that Harris wasn't on Rogan due to scheduling stuff made me just think "Well, if Harris was canceling appearances and rallies left and right, she'd probably have enough time to show up there as well."

Though that joke falls apart because Trump had a rally scheduled at the same time as his Rogan interview.

  • durandal4532durandal4532 Registered User regular
I mean the unfortunate thing is that it's highly likely Harris or Walz would strike a chord with some part of Rogan's audience because he's one of the most popular people in the world and his audience is enormous and therefore necessarily diverse.

    Christ I can't believe he's so popular.

Also as I understand it the interviews skew heavily towards other comedians. The times he has on dipshits like Jordan Peterson or whatever is actually more the exception but I can't say for sure.

There's a few podcasts I keep with but Rogan puts out something absurd like 8-10 hours a week and I don't understand people having the time to listen to an overly credulous dude who is usually some combo of drunk and/or high babble for that long on a weekly basis.

Trump did so, even though it delayed his rally by 3 hours, leaving supporters sitting around waiting for him.

It would be worth it to cancel an event.
