If we are talking which campaign is favored now, probably the one that doesn't have people leaking that their internals are awful:
Republican strategist Margaret Hoover said Republicans have told her that campaign aides for former President Donald Trump have “concern” over internal polling.

Trump is locked in a tight race with Vice President Kamala Harris, as polls show the two virtually tied in several key swing states. On Wednesday’s edition of The Source on CNN, host Kaitlan Collins asked the veteran of two Republican presidential campaigns what data she would be paying attention to.
"I think if you’re the Trump campaign, you’re not looking at CNN’s numbers. You’re looking at your own internal, and I honestly think, I think their internals are actually giving them pause because I think they’re seeing even more– look, they do have a lot of resources for polling more than public media companies have. And they’re probably seeing the same things that you guys are talking about, which is that there’s real groundswell in the early vote. There’s real enthusiasm, which is hard to measure.

I have heard from Republicans that there is concern at the Trump campaign amongst the operatives that actually really do know the political wherewithal, the turnout and enthusiasm numbers aren’t where they need to be."

Have to play for keeps anyways, but things are looking grim over there.

EDIT: And Charlie Kirk, the man co-running Trump's GOTV effort with Elon, had this to say:
    https://x.com/charliekirk11/status/1851717440998453751
Early vote has been disproportionately female.

If men stay at home, Kamala is president. It’s that simple.

If you want a vision of the future if you don't vote, imagine Kamala's voice cackling, forever.

Men need to GO VOTE NOW.

    lol. LOL. lmao.

Yeah, this is what I based my predictions on how 2020 and 2022 would go on. If they're complaining about the election being rigged, they're probably going to lose. I don't think I've seen as much of that this time, which seems like they think they CAN win. But a lot of their strategy seem like Hail Mary plays. Especially the anti-trans stuff. It seems like they're trying to rile up the base rather than entice swing voters, which isn't exactly where you want to be with less than a week to go.

Trump also claimed that the election he WON was rigged against him.

This isn't new; since Democrats are the ones who are obligated to be the party of honesty, integrity and ethics they get held to a ridiculous standard and this has been the case since like... shortly after Obama beat McCaine precisely because he was seen as a messianic figure after 8 years of Bush.

By comparison the republicans who for all their talk of Morality have been allowed to more or less do whatever the fuck they want because their base either doesn't believe the allegations or because they think they're entitled to do whatever the fuck they want and everybody else can just cry into their pillow.

Okay so this seems fun. Still love how it doesn't list a time or location like 24h before it's supposed to be held.

The all PoC mostly women guest list is interesting in terms of who they feel they need to turn out in milwaukee.

So Trump decided not to go to the OSU-PSU game on Saturday. Was there any reason given, or some other event scheduled in its place?

Given that Cardi B is the artist that was complaining about paying her taxes while making over 2 million a month I can't say I'm a huge fan of her as a guest speaker.

Then again she was young at the time and it's been 6 years since her rant so maybe she's less of a wealthy entitled asshole these days.

Yeah, I don't fault anyone who is young and quickly obtains fame and wealth for saying and doing stupid shit. It's incredibly hard to be prepared for something like that. Even people who are able to live in relative anonymity (see: lottery winners) often end up ruining their own lives.

Who I fault are people who think it's a good idea to listen to those people about anything in the first place. But I guess I'm abnormal because I feel like celebrity endorsements are completely worthless. And yet here we are.

My wife and I love Cardi. She does a lot of these stream of consciousness videos where she just talks about whatever comes to mind. A lot of it is political and she's very solid--she endorses people up and down the ballot, and is a strong advocate for progressive causes. And she donates a ton of her money and does a ton of charity work, so I don't really see her as entitled.

I don't remember every video of hers. She does a lot. But I found the one you're talking about. It's mostly about how there are expenses involved with being rich. She talks about how it's frustrating when people come out of the woodwork to ask for money, because she recognizes that she's rich and has a hard time saying no. But an important part of the video is that she's frustrated her taxes are going to Trump's deportation policies and she wishes that money would be spent improving infrastructure instead. It's not "I have to pay taxes and it sucks that I'm a victim." It's "I have to pay taxes, and it sucks that the government isn't using that money on better things."

IDK, this one might make some sense. Property taxes are pretty regressive and their being the primary form of school/city funding causes a ton of problems.

And today Trump just had to grab the pussy spotlight back by declaring that he will protect women "whether they like it or not" which is absolutely the cringiest way he could have phrased that. Like, is he actually trying to lean into his reputation as an abuser?

Sure, but there's a good 99% chance that this ballot measure is just someone butthurt about taxes and it does nothing to deal with the funding gap it will cause.

    Not here they don't.

As an example my roommates own a $400k house. Their property tax burden for the year? A little over $2000.

There's also absolutely zero plan in place to deal with the loss of revenue nor does the ballot measure propose one.

This is 100% some rich assholes mad that the government gets funded.

I mean you're watching less than a minute of her talking and making judgments. But even in that short clip she's bringing up a lack of results: "The streets is always dirty... I know you're not spending it in no damn prison because y'all be giving n***** two underwears, one jumpsuit for like five months." The clip I found is much longer. I didn't watch the whole thing, but it has bits like "[they're] using my goddamn tax money and shit motherfucking build immigration prisons and shit, building fucking walls and shit. I don't want my money going to that shit. I want my motherfucking money to go to my motherfucking city. You know how many potholes is in the Bronx...? There's so much potholes in the motherfucking Bronx, bro." She also brought up other things she wants tax money to be spent on, like subways and community centers. That all lines up with the same kinds of things she's said in the years since.

The reason I'm defending her is because she busts her ass campaigning for progressives and engaging with local politics. She's kind of an idiot, and she's prone to hyperbole, but she's not an anti-tax idiot. She's exactly the kind of entertainer we should expect and that we should want for Dem rallies.

3.63 million Georgians have voted out of 7.23 million active voters.

I genuinely cannot believe how something which is such a corrosive influence on our society is tolerated by governments and other businesses. Yeah people really underestimate how big a deal The Apprentice was for him. My parents were die hard Apprentice fans who immedietly converted to Trump supporters for the 2016 primary. Lots of retired people just kinda turn their brain off and watch TV. A huge part of Trump supporters got into just via the novelty of being able to vote for a TV character they liked. It's like if Peter Dinklage ran for office he would get some votes because dumb people think he's Tyrion Lannister and they like that character.

I assume people get tired of me bringing up canvassing but yeah people do actually care about all of the things you've seen the campaign focus on, to varying degrees.

The top issues I speak to people about tend to be Economy (vague), Immigration (vague), Abortion (usually really specific actionable worries), Democracy (specifically worried Trump will try to end democratic elections for the extremely valid reason that he has already attempted to do so once). Like people who consistently vote actually do tend to think of it as something that is important that they want to protect.

Not everyone cares about every issue, but the bases seem to be pretty well covered by the advertising campaign and stump speeches as much as it's possible to cover them. If you're not seeing a lot of Issue X then it's most likely because you aren't in a swing state, you don't consume a lot of political media outside of like critique/commentary, and/or you're generally considered a safe bet already.
