IIRC people have reserved domains on all the candidate forum titles for some time now, so I think we're good on that end.
Good to know, does anyone have that list of domains handy just in case? I doubt the forums will close next week or anything like that, just paranoia from seeing community migrations between sites before.
I guess they're keeping the URL under wraps for some reason. I suppose following the Patreon (you don't have to donate to follow) https://www.patreon.com/CoinReturn can help?

As far as I'm aware, the reason the URL is under wraps is because there is currently a forum there, which is being put through the paces by the beta testing team. So giving the address out would essentially be the same thing as opening the forums to the public.
While Vanilla threatens us with new bugs on a weekly basis, these forums are still more or less stable, and they should remain that way for long enough for us to have a significant overlap with the new place--I believe the plan was for at least a full month of overlapping time.
Which would mean we need to be ready to go, board, mods, rules, key decisions, the whole nine yards, in the next 45 days, to begin opening the floodgates on April 21st, in advance of these forums shuttering on May 21st.
Not that folks working on the transition don’t know that, but seeing as folks are still swinging by anew, it seems worth contextualizing the rough timeline involved here, and when (in theory) to keep an eye out for things to start moving quickly.

It's not an ultra-classified military grade secret or anything, but yeah, we'd rather folks just not hammer the new site just yet until we're ready to open the doors, that's all. But don't worry, if anything catastrophic were to befall the PA Forums with no warning, we'd make sure the new forum info was posted across all available channels. Various discord servers, our social media accounts (twitter, bluesky), Kofi, Patreon, etc.
Hell, New Jersey, it said on the letter. Delivered without comment. So be it!

Is there a single place where this stuff is collected? I've seen links to some of these things in various places. But for the casual lurker it's not that easy to find.

The Patreon is easy enough to find ( https://www.patreon.com/c/CoinReturn/posts ) if you just want to make sure you have an emergency contact available. You don't need to pledge money to follow a Patreon.

We smashed all our fundraiser goals, and in doing that we unlocked the all-mighty power to choose the name of the Administration Corner, the Forum header that will have sub-forums dedicated to, well, whatever forum admin needs to happen.
The fundraise thread already had a nice collection of suggestions, but here is your chance to add to them:
The Butt Hut
Forum McForumface
The Horse House
The Crash Register
The Drunk Tank
Dinner Squadron
Arcade Coupon Exchange
The Change Machine
Ticket Counter
A Half Pound of Green Pennies In The Bottom of an Unwashed SoBe Bottle
Sumimasen
High Scores
High Chores
Coin Return Information, Technology, Legal and Proposals (COIN TELPRO)
Changes, links, and IT stuff, CLITS for short
Back Office
If you have a great name, Just put it in this thread, and I'll add it to vote roll.
Then on sunday, I'll open a Vanilla poll in the Transition forums, that I'll run for... euhm... 2 weeks? Sounds about right.
So, Let the names roll in!

Vanilla polls are limited to ten options, so we might want to use a different service for that

It's true that it seems a bit double that this one gets a whole seperate poll just for itself, but the fundraiser and the stretch-goals were done way in advance of the restructure thread.
And we earned the rights to this poll, with cold. hard. cash!

Ticket Counter is good and covers the variety of things the subforum will be for, as opposed to something like Crash Register which would imply it's only for bugs

Yeah I adore Crash Register as a name for the bug reports forum, but I want something that casts wider

If we chose Crash Register, we could have everyone's favorite horny bandicoot as an associated image!!
I have a question about something on the new forums that I have to imagine came up in discussion and I'm hoping that someone who has been more involved can answer:
Well I guess two.
Will there be ignore lists?
And if so, will having someone on ignore also hide their quotes in a post?
It doesn't here, and it'd be nice if by default if someone was on your ignore list their quote would be "closed". If that's even possible. It just kinda sucks a bit to ignore someone for your mental health, just to see their post immediately when someone else is responding to them.
I'm not trying to create a debate or anything, I'm sure there's reasons someone would find this to be a bad idea, and I'm not interested in having an argument about it. I'm just curious how it'll work.
So with Board elections starting Monday and running for a week, and then the Board has to appoint Executive Officers, and then Mods...
... should we expect existing Mods will be porting over as-is for now? Or will the TT be modding? Or somewhere in between?
The plan, as far as I know, is to have the existing mods (or at least those of us who volunteer to do so) port over to the new forums
It might be a bit rocky, and theoretically we'll have to be moderating two places at once and we won't have our previous subforum assignments or whatever
So just try and not talk about Star Wars while we get everything sorted out

Good point. I've gone ahead and added a link list of all of the places you can find Coin Return info on various social media services to the bottom of the main Timeline post here: https://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/252904/coin-return-a-progress-bar-and-timeline/

Those, and also the Change Machine.
Awww.. Guess I'll have to use Google forms.
Not a problem as such, I'll just add a "enter your forum name here" part.
Should I add "Coin Return Reception Desk" as your neutral sounding submission?
Oh yeah, that's a good one too. Those are my top 3.
