What is the “move out date” for the PA forums? (I probably missed that somewhere. There is a ton of info and many hundreds of pages of posts to read through).

I have registered over at CR, so I’m all set over there. But right now the posting is split between two boards. Is there going to come a point where PA is locked and everything set to read-only in an effort to encourage people to move over more definitely?

As Undead Scottsman said, May 20th is the vanilla contract end date when, in theory, this place goes dark because they pull the plug once they're no longer being paid.

In reality? Maybe vanilla breaks randomly like yesterday, but in an even more permanent fashion. Hard to say. The plan was to gradually shut the lights off on various parts of the forums near that shut down date to shoo people over to CoRe. At this point, I'd rather not tempt fate and start doing that process sooner than later. We've still got people going through the registration, some hiccups here and there, etc, so we'll probably be managing that for at least a week, but afterwards I would expect to start putting the chairs up and mopping the floors here before the end of April.

Out of pure curiosity, has ANYONE involved with the TT or the temp site Admin team here at PA heard from any PA sources, about any of this?

If not that's fine, I'm not looking for the spilled tea or anything, but a debrief on something this involved would be cool to document for posterity

edit: like post November '24, when the last communications were shared

It would be pretty funny if the PA people did an about face and then were like "Yeah more forum please."

Should we assume that all new business will initiate on CoRe now that it's up and spinning gloriously?

maybe the real panopticon was the friends we made along the way

Yeah, looking at the Users Online list and seeing PA in the sub-60s and Core in the 200-300 range pretty much all day really cements that, I think.

I know we all kinda agreed to some rather strict data privacy agreements, but is this subforum specifically being preserved in any meaningful capacity for any additional time as far as anyone is aware?

    Not specifically no.
It was informally agreed that it'll be the last open forum and would be excluded from any sunsetting going on... and whatever the nightmare in the whirlpool is.
But that's not for archival reasons, but more of a "We don't want to accidentally lock (and/or drown, apparently) the door to the new forums.
I did duplicate the fundraiser post on CR by hand (just the official posts), just because I think it'll be fun to look back at "the official start" as such, of CR.
It won't be the same without the commentary, but we'll have something.
If there are things you really want preserved, Zonugal has a thread about it here:

    https://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/253677/that-belongs-in-a-museum-archiving-pa-history-on-core

It's not as easy as just telling him "hey, archive this" I'm afraid, so you'll need to read up on the requirements in the thread itself.
