I would say anybody that wants to be included should volunteer. No shade but I didn't see any particular / specific recruitment drive for the Transition Team that's done the bulk of the work so far, which tells me you should probably offer up what you can do so that when a work group is needed, there's no need to wait for volunteers to offer - we can just tap folks and say Ready Up?
I haven't updated that index in two or so weeks, but I have been using it to create a pool so that we could immediately reach out to folks to incorporate them into specific sub-teams.
For example, when we begin talking about the graphic/visual design of the new forums, we'll reach out to those folks who expressed skills/desire in that domain.
Yeah, the clickup list is retired too, as It's behind.
But I think @Latentsage has a completely updated list ready for us, in case you missed it.
So I'm willing to have my name be attached to things publicly for US operations, even if that is the extent of my responsibilities.
I'd be willing to learn how some of this works

Might go through tomorrow to make lists for the various initiatives people are quoting here and sort folks who have offered into those since they're more immediately actionable than the vague categories I used. Those are from the progress bar/timeline post?

I didn't want to go clicking into that and change something, but in addition to QA I'm happy to organize any t-shirt drives if we have one to get money together for the initial startup.
I'd love to try to get in on this. I'm a "wearer of all dev-related hats" at work (24 years now), so desktop-dev, back-end dev (Win/Nix), web-dev (front and back), etc. Most work's done in .NET/dotnet, but I wind up with PHP, Python, Go, a dummy 4GL, JS, etc all in my face as-needed.
Yeah, I think in the beginning it will be a slow and steady increase in devs instead of letting all 15 people who know how to do the work in.
Especially because of the license issue. But also to make sure we don't step on each others' toes.
I am getting very close to a place where we can start separating "private" modules in service to our specific forum from broader utility modules that we could open source and make a part of the xenforo addon library, and how that even works from a dev perspective.
Lots of stuff kind of gets dropped into folders and there isn't a package manager like experience for addons themselves.
as someone who's last three AD accounts were basically "yes", I am not the person to advise on this and immediately trust Schuss
is there a self hosted free version you can download and mess around with? i see some people tried to make a version running in Docker but they are years old. I only see the free demo they host.
Needed to pay for the software to do any of this, there is no free version you get code access to.

I would also like to volunteer to assist with:
Identifying Content to Port Over
I am willing to read through old threads on topics like science or history to identify good write ups that we might want to bring forward, or do any other sifting to find diamonds.

- I am extremely pedantic and thorough when it comes to poking and prodding a system. I am also very good at writing bug reports.
Recruiting Community Members to Code Xenforo Plugins
- I am very happy to do PR reviews and tackle bugs when it comes up in the tech stack.
- being realistic I probably won't have cycles to solo own a significant dev task during initial deployment because my time tends to come in bursts that are hard to plan

I can follow directions and also I enjoy trying to break things.
Legos are cool, MOCs are cool, check me out on Rebrickable!

DONATION OR CHARITY DRIVES
I'd like to be a part of it or even manage it. I focus mainly on local stuff but I've got experience with just going to businesses or calling companies until they answer and it's something that as long as we can figure out percentages I have experience with cutting POs and corporate procurement.
edit: further, this is the only position I am interested in for further support of the forums (see my previous post on trying to get a deal on t-shirts or screen prints), if I were to end up in this position, I would not, and do not, have any interest in moderation.
Oh, you're one of those. A User.
To become the true tech support you must become that which you fear most.
If I can help I'd love to help
