My only complaint is that election day is a Tuesday, so you'll need a couple occurrences to get to Thursday.

To live in the blue part of a red state is to be locked in the trunk of a car going off the side of a bridge while some radlib lectures you about safe driving.

I have filled out every bit of my sample ballot except President, because I am going to need at least two hours and a good cry before I decide if I want to vote for Harris or write in someone who doesn't suck.
To wit: I live in Florida, I bear no illusions that my decision on this specific count will actually matter because so many people in this stupid hellstate refuse to make a good decision. But all the same.

Don’t risk it! We’ve had Florida throw a wrench in the presidential election before.

Florida is one of the 12 or so states where polls are close enough to matter. Also given Florida's history of people who voted with a bucket stuck on their head because it's hard to remove with one hand stuck in a vase I'd say they have a wider margin of error to worry about.
Congratulations Romanian, you get to suck the devil's dick for the chance to spit what comes out in Trump's face. Take solace in the fact that you live in one of the few places where holding a nazi rally to insult and threaten all latinos a week before the election theoretically could swing a Presidential race.

I definitely understand better why it’s so hard for people to make this choice now. I’ve always seen voting (specially presidential) in a very utilitarian way. To me it’s just a small part of what I do politically and voting for “the least bad” candidate has always been easy. But I can also see why for many people Biden (and by extension Harris) crossed a line where you can’t just be ok with “least bad”. I’m personally still very likely to vote for her because I haven’t been convinced my other options in that bubble are better (partly because of my strong dislike for third parties), and I’m voting anyway so the effort for filling out that last bubble is very low.
It’s specially frustrating because Harris could’ve easily made this choice way less grueling for you. After picking up Waltz they could’ve ran left and kept the enthusiasm and imo had a much easier time winning. But they preferred the (terrible) idea that stealing centrist and soft republican votes was better. They could’ve had Trans, Arab-American and Latino endorsements but they instead went with Cheney. Trump threw them a lifeline with Latinos with that comedian and she ended up picking those endorsements anyway, but god what a terrible way to run a campaign. It’s understandable, even commendable, to make the election harder for you because you made good moral choices. But Harris made it harder to make terrible moral choice. I know the DNC has the worst strategists, but you can’t just put no blame on Harris.
The weird thing is that I'm actually optimistic about our chances to legalize weed and abortion, in spite of the absolutely dismal outlook in the Presidential race, so... silver linings, I guess?
If you are voting for any write-in candidates, it's a good idea to have their names down on a bit of paper to take with you, to ensure you spell them correctly on your ballot.

Good point, especially since Rashida Tlaib is the write-in I'm considering.

Oh hey this is what I did. Early voted today and went straight dem down the ballot except wrote in Tlaib for president.
I'm in Texas so my vote doesn't matter anyways, but I figure this is as good a way as any to signal "you stupid fucks need to stop funding a genocide before you get my vote back"
Nearly left the senate vote blank as well after the shit Allred pulled this past month, but unfortunately Cruz is such a fucking monster that I'll take literally any hope, however slim, that we somehow send him packing (we won't though, he'll win by 10+ points somehow)
Also we're voting to change our state flag, which I looked up on ballotpedia to find this comment in opposition
State Rep. Shelley Rudnicki (R-67):
"The new flag erases two white men, the farmer and the sailor. And if you look at the countries that use the star in the corner, it’s a lot of communist stuff that we don’t want to be associated with. You have to think: ‘Why are they really doing this?’ I don’t want it to look like a communist flag, because a lot of those communist states like China and Somalia — that’s not what we are."
So here's the Maine State flag as it currently stands.
And here's the flag of the glorious Peoples Republic of Maine
All the propositions on my ballot were just county level "raise property taxes to fund a bond to pay for X" things that I assume are going to lose by like 80 points (I voted yes ofc, because lmao at the idea of having property)
I'm also continuing to canvass people every day until the election, and doing a bunch of trainings for the people who show up the last weekend to do canvassing.
I'm still getting persuadable people which is honestly very wild to me, but I've been happy to speak with them. And I'm doing civics education! I got to explain to someone that state laws still apply to you even if you aren't a resident of that state.
We're all in this together

Weed and abortion are notoriously more popular than literally any president in our lifetimes, judging by national polling.

I feel like the new flag could still use the moose.

Seals on bedsheets is not inherently ugly and there's a backlash amongst vex nerds against the hyper-simplified style that's en vogue now
But with that being said, a northern version of the South Carolina flag is gud

Oh yeah, for CA folks who don't read the thread on the other forum, while bans on rent control are horseshit, prop 33 is badly worded and allows city councils to pass things like "all new buildings have rent control of no more than $100, whoops no one will build anything" and it prevents the state from enforcing building requirements to force them.

Prop 33 is also connected to 34, which is apparently a petty revenge proposition by various CA landlord groups very specifically targeting the AIDS support charity/thrift store chain/low income housing landlord group that has been funding prop 33 (despite it being a landlord business, as far as I can figure the owner must actually believe in rent control being good for society since I don't see how his business could do anything but lose rent income from it). It's all a very salacious slap-fight in the LA area.

I maintain the WA state flag is terrible. But really only because the state seal is also terrible.

I'm sorry you're in that awful position.
Thank you for trying, whichever way you go.

Just remove the white people from the old one and you're golden. Also wtf is Dirigo.

Also, shit I wrote in Boe Jiden.
I would have just made the whole flag a moose
