SE++ Turing Test

You know the Turing test right? Well, imagine a test like the Turing test but instead of a conversation you must give just one word and the judge will decide if you are human or a robot. This is inspired by a BBC article.

In 2018 SE++ users were given the opportunity to submit words to a one word Turing test. Little did they know that in 2024, 6 years later, that they were doing this for real and that their words would be pitted against a robot's words with the winner being released and the loser being unalived. However, in order for this to happen there needs to be a judge. This is where you, a SE++ user in 2024, come in. It will be your job to discern between SE++ user and robot.

Here is a twine game in which you, as the judge, will determine who... or what... lives and dies.

If you'd like to know how this was made:

It's a twine game text adventure. I used ChatGPT to create a robot generated list of words using the SE++ list of words. The order of words and users was randomly determined except in certain situations that required a set order.

I must apologise, some users' submissions required sound or images. This is beyond me. I have bug tested as much as I can, I'm pretty sure everything works but let me know if you encounter something that is wrong. I have also endevoured to correct any username changes since 2018, please let me know if I need to correct any names and I will update the file.

I had hoped to incorporate a TellTale Games style "25% of players made this choice" epilogue using google sheets however it seems like either google has made changes that prevent this or else my non-existent scripting ability is simply not up to the task. Probably the latter tbh.
