So this one should be way easier than my past requests, because I know exactly what the song is a cover of.
About 15 - 20 years ago, while listening to country radio in Texas, I heard a song with lyrics similar to this (I don't speak Spanish so I know I will have gotten the Spanish lyrics wrong):
Goodbye Joe, I gotta go si esta nueva(?)
I gotta go see my amor down in a barrio
Name is Juan, sweetest one, ay que muchacho
Son of a gun, we're gonna have big fun in a barrio
The song had a female singer an an uptempo beat. Now that I've gone looking for it, I know it's a cover of the song Jambalaya (On the Bayou). I've listened to the versions of this song by Hank Williams, The Carpenters, John Fogerty, Jo Stafford, and K-Paz De La Sierra, and none of them are the version I remember. I've made all sorts of googling attempts to find the version I remember and had no luck. Searching the lyrics outright gives no returns, and searching for a Spanish version of Jambalaya returns actual fully-translated lyrics instead of the mix of Spanish and English that I've heard.
Though I heard the song on Country radio, it's also possible this is a Tejano song, which might explain why it's harder to find.

I thought maybe it was Lucinda Williams but as far as I can tell she never sang it in anything but English.

I can find literally nothing about who Sister, Sister is. It's a wonder that this got so much play on my local country radio. I still prefer it over the original version of the song, but that's probably because this one is engraved on my brain from my teen years.

That is rad, but I'm honestly disappointed your link didn't include a stream of their latest songs.
