Healthcare Advice

Hello, those in the forums (fora?) that know me or have seen my posts, I suffer from Grade IV Glioblastoma. I don't work at the moment as I retired early through Ohio STRS Medical Retirement (Like a specialized disability payment). I'm currently on my wife's insurance who works for a mental health company that is federally funded. I'm clearly borrowing trouble, but I'd like to be ahead of this than surprised. Obviously I have a pre-existing condition. so I'm worried about a few scenarios:
1. Shitler (Trump) repeals Obamacare) and something happens to my wife's job (lose funding, let go, etc.) I would then be allowed to switch to my STRS medical plan but pre-existing conditions would no longer be covered or having a waiting period (I think if I'm understanding correctly).
2. If it's repealed and my wife keeps her job, but I still have insurance

STRS currently has open enrollment so if I switch now, and now have my insurance set before it's repealed (I still hope too many people need it that he doesn't). But now I'd be safe from a few things (definitely not the life time maximum) but my wife would be out as my disability take home could not cover a family or spouse option, only self). I'd be shit broke but still be locked in with mediocre healthcare for a very expensive diagnosis.

Can anyone think of things I should look into, people I should talk to, other scenarios I can consider? Just want to keep stuff all in one spot. I hope that all made sense and thanks in advance.

Can you look up if STRS health coverage covered pre-existing conditions prior to the ACA passing? Im pretty positive that both Medicaid and Medicare did so there's at least some precedent for government provided healthcare covering them.

It's not really clear to me what the difference in cost is, but it sounds like wife + you on her healthcare is cheaper than wife on her healthcare and you on STRS?

You may also want to look into if you qualify for Medicaid if your wife loses her job and can't get a new one.
