Resources to help in Palestine and Lebanon

QuetziQuetzi Here we may reign secure, and in my choice,To reign is worth ambition though in HellRegistered User, Moderator mod
Hey all, I know it's a rough time right now everywhere, but if you're looking for somewhere to try and help, here are some links to useful resources.

Anera provides aid and humanitarian relief to Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan.
The Palestinian Children's Relief Fund works specifically to provide medical care and emergency assistance to children in Palestine and Lebanon.
Doctors Without Borders is a worldwide program providing medical care in impacted areas, which currently includes providing aid in Palestine and Lebanon.

I'll vouch for all three of these organizations, I've donated to them all before and just donated to them all again in the process of making this thread. They are also dedicated non-profit organizations which you may be able to have your donation matched through your employer if you work for an organization that does that sort of thing - it's honestly very easy to do that stuff these days, I really recommend taking the time to do so if you can.

I'll also quote a few other posts here, and can add more as time goes on.

Free Palestine: A Compilation for Humanitarian Aid
The situation we’re witnessing in Gaza is heartbreaking. While the world watches, over 30,000 innocent Palestinian people, many of whom were children, have been killed and over 70,000 more injured in attacks since October 7th. Homes, neighbourhoods and cities have been destroyed, and most of the population has been displaced and left without food, clean drinking water, electricity and fuel.

The UK government has continued to allow Israel’s bombardment in the region and chosen not to back consistent calls for a ceasefire, despite the overwhelming majority of the UK public being in favour.

In an effort to raise money for Palestinian aid charities, I’ve reached out to lots of talented artists who have kindly contributed their music to this incredibly important cause.

Sonically it traverses chugging electronics, proto electro, Italo dance, UK techno and leftfield bass from artists like JD Twitch, Ambien Baby, Lisene, GoodMostlyBad and Azo, all of whom are joining our call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

FREE PALESTINE.

All proceeds from the compilation will be split 50/50 between two charities who are working hard to provide support and humanitarian aid in Gaza: Medical Aid Palestine and War Child UK.

Eternal thanks to Jeena Ra for creating this beautiful artwork and to Justin Drake for lending his mastering skills to the project.

Gaza Fundraiser
Our hearts go out to those affected by the ongoing situation. Our compilation, though a small gesture that does not remotely address the complexity of the issue, aims to raise funds for Gaza's people amidst the stark reality of an oppressively imbalanced struggle. Marked by widespread destruction and critical shortages of food, water, and electricity, the situation in Gaza is dire. Our focus is on providing aid where the international community has fallen short. Our efforts stand firmly in support of an immediate cease-fire and in response to an urgent need for relief.

We have decided to select two charities, donating 100% of our proceeds equally between them:

Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) - www.pcrf.net/about-us
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) - www.map.org.uk/about-map/about-map

A sincere thank you to all the artists who have contributed, and to Tawfiq Dawi for helping us out with the artwork. The solidarity and support in our community is humbling to see.

Gaza Relief Fund EP
We know that music seems frivolous in a time like this, but we are just using it as a means to get money to Palestinian charities. Please encourage everyone you know to give directly to the PCRF or a similar Palestinian charity—if you fund a Palestinian charity send us a screenshot and we will give you this EP for free. This is a small gesture, but lots of small gestures add up. We need to diplomatically and economically isolate Israel. Israeli Apartheid needs to end. Free Palestine and fund Palestine!
Hey all, my mom works with the alumni association of a place called the American Community School of Beirut Lebanon, and one of their scholarship programs is specifically for Palestinian refugees. They help get Palestinian youth re-settled in Lebanon and get them access to a world-class education.

If you've got the extra cash, it'd be awesome if you could toss some here:

https://www.acs.edu.lb/palestinian-scholarships-fund

Also I know that says $0 right now but I'm pretty sure the website display is just bugged.

I've been keeping my own relief efforts focused pretty specifically on these guys, as they're a known entity to me that does really good work. My mom, a retired college professor, actually just did a mentorship program with them where she mentored students on Zoom who are looking at applying to universities in the US, basically helping them through the process directly and making sure they're prepared not just for logistical stuff like filling out forms, but also navigating American culture.

Please give if you can, and get involved in your community or on other levels as well.

This thread is stickied, and will be stickied for as long as it needs to be. Let us all hope that soon I will be able to remove it.

If you have a charity you would like added, feel free to post it in here, and I can quote it into the OP as well.

That said, this is not a discussion thread, and if you want to discuss the ongoing genocide, we have a thread for that right here.

Uh the door was unlocked so I assumed it was okay to come in

US folks, the PSL does real work in activism, they have been instrumental in a lot of the really big protests for Palestinians rights and have fundraisers for Palestinian relief efforts. If you saw the vote socialist Claudia and Karina campaign during the recent election, that was them.

Australians, APAN are an umbrella org that can help you hook up with local organisations. https://apan.org.au/events/

Kiwis, Organise Aotearoa I have worked with in the past and I am sure are active in solidarity for Palestine. Find them on Facebook or twitter, they are active and responsive both places @OrgAotearoa
